A win for High-A Wisconsin in Cedar Rapids today would give them a 4-2 series victory. RHP Tyler Woessner (2.61 ERA, 1.35 WHIP, 8.1 K/9 in 41.1 IP) aims for his 2nd victory this week. 1B/C Alex Hall somewhat shockingly leads the team in OPS (.736).

AAA Nashville needs a victory at home over Iowa to salvage a 3-3 series tie this week. RHP Janson Junk seeks revenge for taking a loss in Tuesday's opener (5.1 IP, 2 ER, 4 Ks). Left-handed hitting 2B Patrick Dorrian has a 1.001 OPS against righties (7 HRs in 79 PAs) and a 1.103 OPS in May (61 PAs), overcoming a tough April (.477 OPS in 41 PAs).

CF Joe Gray Jr. raises his High-A OPS from .566 to .644 in two at-bats: 2 HRs and 5 RBIs through 3 innings. Rattlers lead 5-3 in the 4th inning.

Gray adds an RBI double in the 5th inning for a 6-RBI afternoon thus far. Carry the club!!! 6-4 Rattlers. 3B Ben Metzinger has a hit and two walks, scoring 3 runs.

Woessner only lasted 3 innings. Brady’s pitching his 2nd inning now.

Urias doubled and Voit drove him in with an RBI single in the 1st inning, as they shake off the rust. Alex Jackson tripled and scored to double the lead, but Junk gave up a 4-spot in the 3rd inning on 3 singles and 2 walks. Sounds trail Cubs 4-2.

AA Biloxi hands the ball to RHP TJ Shook (4.34 ERA in 18.2 IP) for his first start of 2023 (8th appearance), as they try to close out a 4-2 series win at home over Montgomery. CF Jackson Chourio has 4 hits and 5 RBIs in his last 2 games.

Urias is 3-for-3 through 5 innings. Will this be his last rehab appearance?

I hope not. He has not been good during his rehab stint at the plate and even worse in the field. I really hope they don't rush him back.

That Rattler game went sideways in the middle innings and they ended up losing 9-6, generating only 4 hits, all mentioned above (Gray, Metzinger) from early in the game.

Nashville did well to reverse a 5-2 deficit, taking a 7-5 lead in the 6th inning, before the wheels fell off in the form of LHP Darrell Thompson and RHP Tyson Miller conceding a combined 7 earned runs in 1.1 innings pitched. Sounds fall 14-9, but Urias and Voit were 6-for-10 with 4 RBIs.

Jackson Chourio just smoked another moonshot to LF off Montgomery's Mejia. He's now 2-3 with a 2B and HR in the game today. His OPS is currently sitting at .734

Bummer!

That’s a big $ loss for the team’s ownership on the holiday weekend. That would be Mark Attanasio and crew.

Not only that, the games won't even be made up. Hopefully, those opportunities don't come back to haunt either team as they look to win the first half. Could have been big and meaningful swings in either direction but, as you allude to, at face value it impacts the home team Mudcats and Brewers most.

Maybe he needs to find his way to the Milwaukee outfield … can’t do much worse than what we’ve seen up here in the OF and DH slots lol

That would be a mistake. Kid's only 19 and is the future. Last thing we need is to screw with his development.

Do we have any idea why Chourio was removed from the game?

They are getting their ass kicked and probably just wanted to give him a couple innings off.

Makes sense but I sure hope you’re right. The last thing this organization needs is another injury.

Most of my statement should have been in blue, although I wonder ... haha. Nah, I'm with you - he's going to be great, just sad to see where we are at right now mostly because of injuries and lack of production. And by production, I mean even replacement level play. Him, Black, and Quero might be a fun wave to see.

I didn't see any injury situation during the game. He hit the HR in the 6th then was in the field in the 7th where he wasn't involved in any plays. Biloxi gave up 3 runs that inning and were down 11-1 going into the 8th inning when he was removed.

Black can play the OF (I would argue it is where he is best defensively), and could potentially make sense as an option this season. I personally would promote him to AAA and if he keeps raking there for a few weeks would potentially call him up to the MLB around the beginning of July.

The defense was criminal Sunday for the Shuckers. 4 errors in 3 innings.  Even Chourio made his first error of the season.
