Yes Sir! INF Zavier Warren hits a no-doubter linedrive over the wall in LF. It's 4-1 Shuckers. He drives in Lutz after he worked the lead-off walk. Let's go!

Whew, I thought Valerio went back-to-back. He hit that ball well but must have just gotten under it as it falls deep into the warning track about 5 feet up the wall. That was a matter of an inch on the bat. Whew.

Hey a Chourio XBH! He hits a screamer down the 3B line and into the bullpen. That's a two-bagger. Let's go, young man. Let's get those XBH's coming in bunches.

High-A Wisconsin is in Midland, Michigan to take on Dodgers’ affiliate Great Lakes. RHP Edwin Jimenez (2.09 ERA, 0.95 WHIP, 10.1 K/9 in 47.1 IP) makes his 5th start (12th appearance). 20-year old Eduardo Garcia continues to man the shortstop position as the team awaits Eric Brown Jr.’s return from injury.

I missed Brown getting hurt...  Hopefully nothing serious?

The Mudcats grab a run and trail 3-1 headed to the bottom of the 7th frame. It wouldn't have come any other way tonight: hitting into a double play. That's at least 3 on the evening - the worst of which came in 2nd with the bases juiced and one down. That was a killer.

That's yet another deep fly given up by Childers off, you guessed it, the heater. It's just such a hittable pitch. Man, I really really hope there's something in the works with that pitch. As it stands, it's a liability. The Mudcats deficit is back to three runs as the score now stands 4-1.

After giving up two runs in the 3rd frame, Gasser bounces back pitching his best inning of the night in the 4th - he ends it with 2 K's. 8-2 Sounds headed to the bottom half.

Let's go Mudcats! Let's end this six-game skid. The bats are coming to life in the 8th. Consecutive 0 out doubles by C Blayberg Diaz and now INF Gregory Barrios have pulled the young men within 4-3. AND, we have the runner at 2nd base. And, still, nobody down. Let's GO!

INF Luke Adams just took a four pitch free pass. Thank you kindly. Runners on the corner now. One down. The possible rally is alive. Let's go!

Meanwhile, in Nashville DH Alex Jackson has now lost two bats into the stands down the 3B line in his AB in the bottom of the 4th. Yikes! Look out, folks!

My goodness. How would that Mudcats rally end other than an absolute screamer line drive fly out directly to the 1B. Adams is picked off standing off the bag. My baseball gods that was not what we dialed up. That's at least the 4th dp off Mudcats bats tonight. They trail 4-3. That was a tough one. That ball was hammered.

And, just like that, INF Cam Devanney adds more for the Sounds. With the bases dripping he hits a line drive through the gap between SS and 3B with the bases dripping. It's 10-2 Sounds now. Men on 1st and 2nd base. One down. Alvarez at the dish. Runs. Runs. MOAR RUNS!!!!

RHP Miguel Guerrero has pitched 1 1/3 scoreless - his slider just really dialed tonight. And, more importantly, he's given the young Mudcats a chance to steal one late. They'll head to the 9th frame still trailing 4-3.

Valerio has missed two long balls tonight by a combined 6 '. He just smashed a ball high off the RF wall - this one lands fair and is a double. His last was caught 5-6' up the LF wall deep in the warning track. His red hot bat stays red hot. Raking.

LET'S GO!!!! Chourio with his second smashed double to LF. This one a rope liner one or two-hopped to the wall. Valerio scores. It's now 5-1 Shuckers.

OK, Jace. Avina smacks a double to RF. We have the tying runner aboard and in scoring position. Chirinos to the dish. One down.

That's 7 straight losses for the Mudcats. Two pop fly balls end it. 4-3. That's a tough tough loss. They had their chances. Ultimately, they were snake bitten by the double play...again...and again...and again.

Alex Jackson (DH tonight) continues to showcase his best skill: absolutely crushing baseballs. My goodness. He just porched another one deeeeeep and highhhhhh over the LF wall. 11-2 Sounds.

I said the other day that I was still waiting for that big breakout game from Chourio…looks like today is that day. Two doubles, a homerun and 4 RBI’s and we’re only in the 5th inning.

Well, I'm perdy shore the HR happened in the 5th frame as they plated 3 runs to make it an 8-1 game. I am going back to watch it now.

Yuppers. Warren and Valerio walked after Lutz K'd on a really nice off-speed pitch. Chourio took a massive hack on a 2-0 heater up and away. I broke my arm watching. With the count 2-1, he called TO after that hack and proceeded to smash an oppo dart over the wall in RF. That was a no doubter. It's a dangerous proposition to try and sneak those high heaters past him. He has proven time again he can crush those.

5 IP, 3 ER is RHP Christian Mejias' standard line. He has given Mike Guerrero and his Shuckers teammates a dependable and consistent outing and that is it. Score more than three runs and you know you likely have the opportunity to win the ball game. Leading 8-1 he was done in by an absurd chopper that bounced over Warren at 1B and wound up a triple. Then that runner was sent home on the ongoing hunt for balks by umpiring crews. A questionable call.
