First base coach also needs to help the runner out too.  Just ridiculous.

I thought the same thing. Berry better have been yelling at Perkins about Alonso coming behind him. If not then I put that just as much on Berry as Perkins.

Contreras can’t let that pitch get by him……..come on folks.

What's the difference?  There are zero consequences for things like having zero plate discipline, lazy/stupid defense, horrible base running or not throwing strikes.

Tough inning for Contreras.

Fortunate strike 3 call to mercifully end that ugly inning.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Adames has let like 10 balls go into CF this year on SB attempts at 2B. That wasn't even a bad throw from Contreras and Adames just whiffed on it.

This has been Counsell's worst year as a manager with all the underperformances and mental mistakes. The buck stops with him..

… and he’s on an expiring contract, imagine that.

Can’t blame the guy, he knows it’s his  last year, and he doesn’t  have the horses to run with the big boys.

Two on and nobody out is always an entertaining position for this offense.  I look forward to seeing how they flub this.

I don't know if I would go that far, but I do wonder if this isn't some sort of a lame duck situation.

Happens to the best of them.  The message just stops being effective after a while.

I don't have a problem going that far when you have so many of our key players underperforming their career averages and when you have innings like the one we just had against a struggling team. .

Really hard to score runs when your  3 through 6 hitters are in in huge slumps.

Are we sure it's a slump?
