Also scalded is a bit dramatic. I said if you wanted to gripe about something with the bullpen management it would be using Wilson down 7-2 making him unavailable for the Pirates opener. Not exactly scalding Counsell when the words “If you wanted to gripe about something”

I did mean that the scalding took place on Friday not the mismanaging, but I can see how it might sound like that. I chose the wording the way I did (instead of “mismanaging the pen on Friday” ) because the comments are on the Friday game thread. 

I don’t remember anyone saying on Tuesday “Why is he bringing in Wilson (even though he hasn’t pitched in 6 days). This might come back to bite him in a few days if he has to use Wilson for multiple innings tomorrow if Miley only goes 4 innings and all of Milner, Peguero, Payamps and Williams each of the next two days to pull out wins.”

Maybe, but given that's an unknown quantity, you have to lock down wins where you can while they're available. I expect Andrews to locate his secondary stuff better next time out, but even then you don't want to chuck him in and the Cubs to score three runs yesterday, that's a far sillier scenario of such a momentum building win
