DSL Brewers-1 and DSL Guardians Red have picked up where they paused their game 10 days ago, with the Crew trailing 1-0 in the top of the 5th inning but having the bases loaded with 1 out.

Unfortunately, a K and pop out ended that opportunity.

18-year old RHP Esmir Suarez (4.13 ERA with 26 Ks in 24 IP in 6 games) has now entered to pitch the bottom of the 5th inning and he's likely to cover several frames.

While Emir Suarez worked three scoreless innings, DSL Brewers-1 tied the game in the 7th inning on a Luiyin Alastre RBI single, then grabbed a 3-1 lead in the top of the 8th inning (Kevin Ereu RBI double, Argenis Aparicio RBI single), but I'm guessing they're on a rain delay now which will likely eliminate the 7-inning game which is meant to follow. Hopefully they're at least able to squeeze in the bottom of the 8th inning and then call it a game, but it would have been nice to have Suarez finish them off with no delay.

DSL Brewers-2's game against the DSL Braves has already been postponed tied 1-1 in top of the 3rd inning, presumably to be resumed next week Thursday when the teams are scheduled to play again. Filippo Di Turi had a double and scored on a Peter Ibarguen single. RHP Melvin Hernandez conceded a run in 2 innings without yielding a hit or walk (an HBP came around to score).

A beautiful strikeout from Gasser to end the 4th, not getting the swig and miss you'd hope for at times here, and most of the contact is aerial which is hurting him but he's keeping the score under control with damage limitation

12 straight balls from Gasser with 2 outs in the bottom of the 5th inning…

And the next batter swings at the first pitch and pops it up. 😁😁 Still 3-2 Sounds.

He just totally lost it. Cannot believe Cameron swung at a 1st pitch after Gasser threw 12 straight balls lol.

Sorry, Keston Hiura-lovers. He wasn’t able to follow up yesterday’s solid performance. 0-for-4 today with 2 Ks.

By contrast, Luis Urias reached base 4 times (2 singles, 2 walks) after a homer and single yesterday.

Ethan Small gets the loss after giving up 2 homers in 4 batters. But his ERA of 3.45 is not awful. Has to keep grinding until he figures it out.

Norfolk 5, Nashville 3.

It would be great if Urias can get it going and earn his way back to MKE.

He's been fantastic since the short minor league break.  After going 2-3 with 2 BB today he's slashing .302/.464/.535 in 56 PA with a 21% BB-rate and 19.6% K-rate which is good for about a 150 wRC+.

I like to think my recent Minor League report comments kicked him into high gear. It was a stab in the dark after a lackluster single game at the dish.

Yeah, I think he's earned his way back to the majors already. I would start him in the IF right now alongside Monasterio and Turang.

Yeah! Let's find this dude a position.  I just was looking at season stats for Biloxi and still can't believe how good of a season he is having- historic- unreal.

Aa Biloxi have won 8 of 10 games and have RHP Carlos F. Rodriguez (2.69 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, 11.9 K/9 in 80.1 IP) starting tonight as they seek a 3-0 series lead at home over Birmingham. INF Tyler Black leads the Southern League with 45 SBs and makes his first MILB start at 1st base.

I'm still peeved the ump took away RHP Ryan Brady's first Save last night. Egregious blown called strike three after some really sublime bullpen work. He deserved better. (Still frame from last night's thread below. That ball is essentially sitting atop the inner stripe. After his multiple innings of good work, he deserved the recognition there)

The Low-A Mudcats have won 7 of 8 games and strive for a 3rd straight victory in Columbia tonight. RHP Patricio Aquino (2.72 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, 9.6 K/9 in 56.1 IP) gets the start. LF Jace Avina has a .320 AVG / .382 OBP / .700 SLG in 55 July PAs.

3 up. 3 down for the Mudcats. Luke Adams goes down swinging on a really nice slider from the Fireflies starting pitcher. Heck of a nasty pitch.
