Another disappointing loss to a really bad team

Atlanta makes complete sense

Losing to Washington with your ace on the mound reminds me of the losses to Oakland (3 x at home)

I want to get excited & believe but I’m not sure this is our year

Hopefully the new acquisitions & a few healthy additions from the IL will do the trick

This game felt very winnable

Yeah.      I think this is going to be an ugly finish again this year.    Probably third place.          We should finish ahead of cardinals though

That was my prediction at the beginning of the season, except I thought the Cards and Cubs would end up ahead of them.

You guys just don't seem to get it. Why is the run differential negative? Very simple answer...the offense, the offense, the offense. The answer was never to sell, it was always to load up on bats. That should have started in the off season. Now they will go weakly into the off season simply because they NEVER EVER EVER get good bats in the off season, and they don't get good enough one's at the deadline. I honestly don't know how all of you do it, and stick with this team/organization every year when it's the same thing year after year after year. You all are very patient and truly dedicated fans, I have to hand it to you.

We have a negative run differential on the season which tells you this isn't a good team.

Pathetic loss to a crummy team (shades of getting swept by the A's).   No upside to this. We ain't go no bats that we can rely on. Disssss-gusting.

We also have a bullpen worn down due to never having any easy wins.

I think it's bigger than that.....

You don't have to be a rocket scientist to see that , been that way for years it seems , always trying for roster flexibility instead of solid hitters . just going to waste solid pitching that we have had over the last few years . will be different next year !

ALSO... you can't keep relying on even a better than average bullpen* to cover up for a consistent lack of hitting.

* Not saying we have a better than avg, bullpen.  :-/

Very disappointing loss.  Very low energy effort.  Nationals played with more passion.  Took a little longer this year but this is not a good start to this stretch.

I suspect that Braves series took a lot of the starch out of the guys.  It ain't fun getting your head bashed in like that knowing you might have to face them again should you get into the playoffs later on and then get thrashed again.

We definitely need our DH to be solid defensively.

I think there are a lot of posters here that would disagree with you about patience.

There are some who have been railing about the terrible offense from the off-season through today, and others that have complained about the first group for being too negative because the projections say the hitting is going to improve and the Brewers will win the division.

I would say up until recently the bullpen has been one of the strengths of the team.

No way you can say that about the offense.

Defense has felt pretty average most of the season. Not great but not terrible.

Remember the Brewer era when we kept asking why we had no pitching and they said, "Well, we have Prince Fielder and Ryan Braun."

Have to say this team is great at run prevention. Guys like Turang and Wiemer prevent runs against us by being so good defensively and also prevent us from scoring by being such bad hitters.

I'd be happy salvaging the future by getting a great deal for Burnes tomorrow.

Sorry, but I just don't see Arnold and company being sellers right now, unfortunately.

Its kind of strange that the analytics guys never mention our negative run differential when that tells a lot about this team.

Ha, I was just going to say something to this effect. I mean, you have to keep trotting Weimer and Turang out there game after game because of that "run prevention". Even if they're hitting sucks. Or at least that's what the organization would tell you. The ELITE defense though! It's like a basketball player, he may not be able to guard a chair defensively but he's an ELITE scorer offensively, and more than makes up for his lousy defense. Huh, go figure.

Better for you to call it a fan career now, cuz I hate to tell you this…..we have been overachieving….yes… for the last 6 or 7 years, comparatively to other small market teams. We aren’t the Rays, but we have had it pretty good. Division championships, 2018 NLCS, 4 straight playoffs… no WS and frustrating playoff losses sure, but compared to 1983-2006ish, there is no comparison.
Yes, I am frustrated with a few aspects of the team too, but perspective helps.
