Correa has been the worst baserunner in the league this year (via BSR), and he didn't exactly look spry on that jump. I have a feeling that contract isn't going to age well. Giving out a large contract like that after two larger markets passed...

Athletic article from Rosenthal says Brewers were within field goal range of a deal for Pete Alonzo. Everyone was available except Chourio in the farm. I mentioned this at the deadline is a way to go. Thoughts knowing what we know now?

If it was headlined around Quero and Black, that would've been fine. Anything involving Chourio or Misiorowski and I would have been angry.

He alone is worth losing Hader at the trade deadline last year

And then you think about the fact that we got our current elite setup man and one of the top LHP prospects in the game because of that deal....

I would agree. Frelick evidently was on the table. Would hope they would take Wiemer instead but doubt it.

I wouldn’t have traded both of them in a package for him……I’m ok with not getting him.

don’t like acquiring a guy for a heavy prospect package like that and then after the season what do you do? Try to trade him again and recoup some of it or ride it out and lose him for a comp pick?

Would love to have him but obviously the Mets wanted more then we…..or anyone else would give.

ps Black just hit a homer……😎

I think a lot of it is it's been a long time since we had an impact presence like that in the middle of the order. lol

I start unpacking from a long weekend and the brewers turn 3-2 deficit to 7-3.     I really must be bad luck.    I’m hardly following them this weekend and we go on to sweep the rangers and so far looking good tonight

Quero and Wiemer would be ok by me. Maybe Black and filler. Not sure I would have gone beyond that but make no mistake he would make this team with it's pitching very dangerous.

Hiura deserves a September 1st call up at the very least. Would be nice reward for a great season

I’ve stayed far away from the hiura debate this year.    But he is one guy I really root for to make it.      He seems like such a good guy.     He never puts his head down.     I would love for him to come up and tear it up for a month.    He has proven he can get hot

plus when he actually makes contact the sound from his bat is a lot different than the other brewers.

I’m not superstitious…..but if a Brewers fan thinks they are a jinx ……then I’m all in favor of them taking one for the team and not watching.
