This must be a typo. I've been assured our offense is pathetic.

1/3rd of the starting lineup is different than it was before the trade deadline. I'm glad the Brewers saw what we saw and made some positive changes.

Chargois is starting tonights' game, and he was actually warming up last night at one point. That's a good illustration of the shape of the Miami staff right now. Let's avoid a situation like last week in Pittsburgh where they pulled the starter & the bats went silent.

As a card-carrying member of the Run-Prevention Club, I was happy to see Monasterio, after so much time at 3B, flip over to 2nd & have a real nice game. I know he's played there before, but it's been awhile.

Hope we can control Stallings at the bottom of the order. I know that sounds strange, but going back to his Pirate days he's always seemed to be a pain in the *** to us.

So Wiemer stays on a pitch & drives it beautifully to the RC field gap last night----on an old-timers-game velocity pitch from the aforementioned Stallings. I really feel for how badly he's struggling at the plate. Rare combo of athleticism, strength & speed. Hope things get cleaned up for him in the off-season.

With Donaldson replacing tellez now.   We basically have three utterly useless players in our bench.    Tellez.   Wiemer.   Anderson.     Should we call up someone else or are we stuck with these dudes the rest of the season.

Position player be darned he has had a few nice at bats the past few games (including the double in the no hitter debacle).  He's starting to look 'less lost' on most of his at bats.  If he was playing everyday (he shouldn't be with what Frelick/Taylor/Canha/Yelich to a lesser degree lately have been doing) I think we would see him a bit more over the hump than he is now.  You can see bits and pieces coming together.  An offseason to readjust his timing mechanism and pre-bat movement will go a long ways to him having a more successful 2nd season.  Glove plays though, man does the glove play.

It's a different offense now than it was to start the season.  Seems like when Sal joined the team, he brought with him a bunch of patience at the plate and shared it with the rest of the team.

Wiemer is the platoon CF vs LHP. He can also be a defensive replacement and pinch run.

Tellez can pinch hit vs RHP.

Anderson provides flexibility with his ability to cover 3B or RF.

The 12th, 13th and 14th players on most teams rosters are of limited usefulness…that’s why they’re the 12th, 13th and 14th players on the roster.

They are pretty bad for back end of the roster guys still though.   Almost completely useless.   They just aren’t good at hitting at all.    Wiemer might be able to run down a fly ball late in the game.    The brewers are probably scared to give someone a chance who hasn’t been on the roster much but I guarantee they would be an upgrade over these three

also wiemer isn’t a platoon guy.    He’s just bad

Yeah, replacing three of the black holes in the lineup with Sal SantanCanha has had a pretty noticeable effect…

As long Wiemer is starting vs LHP (which he has been) he is a platoon guy. His 123 wRC+ vs LHP is 5th on the team.

What three guys are you replacing Rowdy, Wiemer and Anderson with that you can guarantee better production from?

The key is can Tellez and Anderson swallow their pride and do what it takes to help when called upon.  They were starters at the beginning of the season for a reason.

All 3 have looked lost at the plate lately, which is to be expected if you are not getting at bats.

Second start in a row he has given up a homer to his first batter.

2/3 actually. He has given up a HR in the first inning three straight starts.
