This is going to sound dumb because he's a pro and I'm a bum, but I think Weimer is scared of the pitched ball. He's always pulling way off on his swing, so he can never hit anything on the outside half.

You would think that after he gets two strikes he would cut back on his swing and make good contact, but no, he swings as hard as he can.

Now his front foot is even further open then it was earlier in the year.

His bad mechanics have gotten even worse as the season has progressed.

I mean Joey is like 3 for 30 at this point. How bad does CC think Anderson is that he can't get a look in as a pinch hitter

Anderson must have made the same mistake hiura has.  Also, what a surprise getting shut out by an average lefty

Which is so maddening ! Wouldn't you think somewhere in our system someone would have tried to help , if not then every hitting coach in our system should be let go ! seriously ! How can this happen ?

How much fun is it really coming down the stretch knowing once you get to the playoffs you are going to lose 2- 0 or 3-1 and be done for. There is just not the same feeling as the Braun Fielder or even prime Yelich years. The fan base isn't that into it because there is no hope this offense is going to make a run. Unfortunately.

I put this loss on monasterio.     Apparently he has to perform in every situation or we don’t score.

he better get his act together.

I get excited when I hear burnes, woody, peralta starting in the playoffs with our defense.     We have a great shot

then I wake up and realize that we are going to get shut out at least once in the three game playoff series.    So can we win the other two games?

Garrett was basically a LH version of Hendricks tonight. Really, it's been a long time since I've seen so many pitches---from all the Miami pitchers---located pretty much exactly where they wanted to put them. And I don't remember one strike call on the corners that I disagreed with. I know it's not popular on here to give the opposing pitchers credit when we don't hit, but that's what I saw. One thing we could've done better, was look to go the other way, which often isn't what a RHH likes to do vs a lefty. Contreras did it once. Donaldson tried to do it. That's about all I remember.

I would've hit Yelich for Wiemer in his next-to-last AB. They most likely would've brought in Nardi but that's a much better matchup right now than Wiemer vs Robertson. I had no problem with Wiemer hitting in the 9th w/2 outs given the other options.

With Wilson working today I guess you need to keep your fingers crossed Houser is ready to give you quality tomorrow.

I have no problem giving the other pitchers credit.  They get paid too.   But we have in inordinate number of shutouts lately.     And I’m counting that yankee game too.   That was ridiculous

At some point enough is enough we regally need to make minor changes to the roster.   CC is hamstrung

Anderson and wiemer need to go.   Along with chafin.    I can entertain rowdy staying as we all have schoop syndrome where we think a player might actually do something good

But I don’t think it’s an outlandish knee jerk reaction that 2-3 players need to be replaced.    And they don’t have to earth shaking moves.    Give our manager a chance with some dudes

Why is that not an out when Santana slipped down the stairs but if a defender catches a ball and ends up in the lap of a fan in the front row it is an out?

It WAS an out. Runners advance a base if the ball is carried out of play after a catch.

I would guess they're considering Perkins for Wiemer. He was unavailable & is now playing in N'Ville on rehab. Other than him there wasn't really any other option afa OFs at AAA are concerned. Yelich hasn't been available. Canha is down until Friday I'd guess. Wiemer played because they're down two OFs.

I won't defend Anderson being here, esp since he could've been used today & wasn't. I was actually surprised he stayed & Miller went when Donaldson joined the team.

As long as Nashville is playing they aren't going to bring up Black to sit, which is what he'd mostly do w/Donaldson being here.

They've played this entire series with a short-handed roster & won 2 of 3. Today it bit 'em.
