Was that really necessary?

I don't really have a stake in this conversation about if CC stays or goes.  It's not like he will manage the Brewers forever.  At some point the franchise will have to move on.  All managers at some point are most likely fired at some point or they retire.

I disagreed with you comment.  Not sure why you are making fun of it or me.

On the one hand I agree with your comment that he has made the most of what he has been given but on the other side of the coin, CC has had in his tenure some of the best SP and bullpens in franchise history with two nearly lights out closers in terms on sheer talent alone.  Plus 2 years of Yeli being from another planet.  I'm sure that has also been a factor in his success.

This year he did a commendable job in the season considering the roster and injuries that was handed to him but he also had a bad playoff series and outside of '18 hasn't won a playoff series.  For all this success we have had we still don't have a pennant or a WS appearance in his time. Is that because of his managing? Of course not but like everyone on the team he also plays a part in all of its successes and failures.

If he does leave, what's to say that there won't be someone out there that might be better or does a better job.  That person may not even be managing right now.  Afterall CC had no managing experience when MA hired him.

If he stays great.  If he goes then he goes.

Nope, it wasn't.

The thumbs up and thumbs down icons are there for a reason, right?

Some posters just don’t like people that disagree with their opinion.

If you want to gimme a thumbs down go ahead. But maybe expand on why you disagree instead of just clicking a button.

Wait, so if we leave a thumbs up or thumbs down, we now have to explain why we agree or disagree with the post, or be ridiculed by a moderator?  Is this a new written rule someplace?  It looks like I'm being snarky, and I probably am, but I don't see anyone else getting called out or ridiculed for leaving a thumbs down, just BlightlyBrew.

I mean, if this is now a rule, I think we all need to be informed that you are no longer allowed to click the thumbs down without a full explanation as to why.  Or does it only apply if we click the thumbs down on a mods post?

😀🤪😡

I gave this a thumbs up...because I agree!

I give a thumbs down if I disagree. It's not much more than that. I tend to post a lot. Others aren't as vocal. I'd prefer(usually) if you expanded on your opinion, but...if people don't want to, so be it.

No you don't have to do anything. There are no rules about thumbs. I'm explaining why I called out that particular poster who has been negative about everything since the beginning of the season (and probably before) and who has been reported to mods by other posters a number of times.

Seems to me like you are just trying to bury the issue by moving these posts here, hoping no one sees them perhaps?  Makes no sense to hide those posts here, in a forum no one ever reads, or wait, maybe that is the reason after all?

C'mon man, the guy gave you a thumbs down, did it bother you that much?

I'm neutral according to my profile page.🤣

So you disagree with ridiculing people that disagree with you but resort to ridicule yourself. Way to take the high road. Wear that hypocrite cap proudly.

First of all - I should not have called him out like I did. @BlightyBrew I am sorry about that. As a mod, I should take the high road. I should have just asked you what exactly you disagreed with and asked you to expand on it.

Secondly, I moved these posts to the issues forum because that is where they belong. No one going into a thread on Craig Counsell's future should have to wade through a bunch of posts about the thumbs-up/down feature. Yes, I contributed to sending things off the rails over there and I knew there'd be some blowback to moving them here but that's ok. I didn't delete anything, I told everyone in the old thread where to find the new thread. The people who were interested could easily make their way here (like you did).

As I mentioned, there are no rules related to the thumbs up/down thing. I don't personally use thumbs down because I think it leaves more questions than answers for the person who receives it. Say someone makes a post with several points and another poster gives them a thumbs down. So do you disagree with everything? One thing? Two things? These are my non-mod two-cent opinions on it.

I lied. I guess I used the thumbs down once:
