(Note: We were asked to kick off these threads a bit earlier than usual, by a week or two. You may see various updates shortly.)

Sounds' Opening Night is Friday 4/5 - at home vs. Montgomery (Rays).

The eventual Nashville formal announcement will come directly from the Sounds, not the Brewers, once the Brewers have given them the Sounds the official go-ahead to do so.

Feel free to link to any formal Sounds notices you see.

Often, we learn via player tweets, who has been assigned where, prior to the formal affiliate announcements. We'll link to any of those posts in this thread as they come out.

As you might know, we use the "Your 2024" team threads to post and link to feature stories, including audio and video, that are outside the scope of game activity covered in the Daily Minor League Link Report.

These threads have become among the most popular for viewing here.

Please do not speculate on any player releases. Brewers Player Development or MiLB.com will update us formally.

Is there a date that the organization announces minor league rosters (placement). I am really excited to see where guys are placed this year especially most of our younger talent.

Just stay healthy. That's the ask. The rest will take care of itself.

After learning earlier of the plans to start 1B/C Wes Clarke and OF/INF Noah Campbell in AA ball, along injuries to LHP Robert Gasser and INF Christian Arroyo, I guess the main surprise for me is RHP James Meeker being absent.

I'd thought that Meeker was a shoo-in and that RHP Justin Yeager might be the unfortunate odd man out. Instead, they're both out, presumably in order to give the team an extra lefty arm in the form of 26-year old LHP Nick Bennett (big congrats!). I'm guessing that LHP Darrell Thompson and RHP Chad Patrick are being placed on a reserve list or bumped to AA Biloxi.

We should probably be considering 25-year old RHP Blake Holub (acquired for Mark Canha) for our prospect lists. Drafted in 2021 and debuting in 2022, he’s moved very rapidly to AAA.

Congrats as well to 26-year old RHP Harold Chirino, who’ll make his AAA debut in his 9th MILB season.

So who will be the starting pitchers.  I've got Carlos R., Ashby, McKendry, and Junk.  Who is the 5th?

I had assumed it would go to Chad Patrick.

Myers was primarily a starter in AA last year, so my guess would be him.

Thompson is wrapping up rehab from an offseason surgery and “will be active for Nashville for their home opener.”  Just ever so slightly behind on his rehab and will only miss three regular season games luckily.

It was sports hernia surgery in December for Thompson, per this article.

I'll always contend that archived pre-game or post-game affiliate audio is among the most valuable gifts the teams give us. Two Rick Sweet interviews within? Sweet!

Sweet indicates in the Sunday interview that Tyler Black's stint as "DH only due to being banged up" ended on Sunday. We should see him in the field Tuesday.

The direct link lists the Nick Kahle interview twice. If you are seeking the old friend Caleb Boushley interview, you can find it on Soundcloud here.

Via the "Brew Crew Scoop" Podcast: "2023 Nashville Sounds Fan Favorite and current infielder for the AAA squad, Patrick Dorrian, joined us for about a half hour to talk about his career path, his time in Nashville, and other things he'd like Brewers fans to know about him."

Take in their full Brewers' podcast from the start, the Dorrian interview begins at the 25:55 minute mark.
