These early records and marks validate the sentiments the Brewers system aficionados suspected coming into 2024: the greatest wealth of talent in the system is in the lowest levels. We haven't even seen the ACL or DSL squads and what might be in store in the partial season clubs. It's a great time to be a Brewers nerd!

Absolutely is!

Thank you Todd Johnson & co.

The ‘23 draft-class has injected an incredible amount of talent into the lower-levels of the system, especially pitching. It’s early, but when all is said and done, that class could be franchise-altering.

On the international side, it’s been consistently good to great classes since Mike Groopman was hired back in ‘18, then on to Klentak & Armstrong. The ‘24 class, imo, could end up the best of all as far as depth of impact talent is concerned (gut feeling based on SR’s/value signings).

3B Andruw Monasterio has been pulled from the lineup, perhaps heading to the Show to replace injured OF Joey Wiemer. Patrick Dorrian will start for Nashville and bat 9th.

Today is the day that Dorrian snaps the skid. I feel it in my bones.

Knoth hit by a 101 EV comebacker in the foot/ankle area. Stayed in the game, but he walked the next hitter on 4 badly missed pitches. I wonder if he will stay in the game beyond this inning.

After a double and wild pitch to open the game, Josh Knoth briefly settled in retiring five straight, one via swinging K.

From GameCast it appears as though he got hit by a comebacker with two outs in the bottom of the second though.

Has stayed in the game but walked the next batter on four pitches (one wild, two in the dirt) before David Garcia bails him out on a caught stealing to end the inning.

No CS although it would have been. Knoth struck out the hitter looking on the pitch.

Thanks for the clarification, that’s what I get for relying on whatever Carolina League intern is in charge of updating the GameCast.

Too talented a player to go to depths this low. Time to resurface!

Let's GO!

Wichrowski got a strikeout but then gave up a launched double off the tall wall in LF followed by a 4 pitch walk with no close pitched. 2-0 Smokies and still only 1 out. Rough debuts for Wichrowski and Woessner these last two days.

Totally missed him in the Smokies lineup yesterday, but cool to see old friend Hayden Cantrelle off to a hot start at 333/389/606 (195 wRC+) over his first 37 PA of the year.
