EV 105 for Wilken. Confirmed homer.

Clarke with a HR 10-1!!!

Wow, When Biloxi gets H, they are the Shuckers. When the bats go silent they are just Suckers.

Wisconsin has the right guys up in the 8th .... Dotson, then back to the top with Lara (who hasn't been hitless since May) but is hitless tonight, then Barrios also hitless tongiht.

I mean I understand the Cards aren’t an offensive juggernaut but for his first start in the majors you can’t throw much better than that.

well done kid

Lara walks, Barrios base hit. O'Rae deep to left, but just not enough strength, and warning track fly. 2 down. So close. C'mon TRats. Lets go... Adams up

Posted

Simple pop up to 1st base. Rally ended. Still 3-6, TRats down.  They had the right guys up and did make some noise. But not enough hits tonight.

A couple of double for the Bandits extends the lead - first double was sinking drive to CF, and Lara tried but couldn't get it and knocked it down to prevent a 3B/HR.

Down to the last few hitters.  Let's see if Wisconsin can get some hits, or will go quietly like their A ball partners.

Areinamo Wood Chirinos

AZ Crew currently up 2-1 middle four.

Hayden Robinson allowed a run in the first frame on a single, two walks and a ground out, but has settled in pretty nicely since throwing two and two thirds scoreless frames with 4 K as Anfernny Reyes comes on for the final out of the 4th (which he gets after a double and walk).

Two runs came via Filippo Di Turi single, Pedro Ibarguen single with Filippo making it to third, a double steal with Pedro to third on a throwing error, Anthony Gomez walk and then another double steal with the run scoring but Gomez caught in the crossfire.

TRats go down quietly. Only a Chirinos walk (his 3rd of the game). 7-3 Loss.

Shuckers going to the top of the 9th with a 10-2 lead. Gardner out to try to close it out.

Gardner closes it out. Works around a hard hit triple (nearly a homer Sparks may have saved the homer), then a very questionable walk (looked like strike 3, but Miller did not get the call behind the plate).

Pitchers looked great:
Wichrowski 5 IP, 4 H, 1ER, 3BB, 1K

Carlson and Gardner, both Sams, get the final 12 outs with only 1ER.

Wilken 2-5, Clarke 3-4

AZ Crew scored another complex style run with a Filippo walk, to third on an Ibarguen reach on error, then another double steal.

Currently leading 3-1 after five.

Enniel Cortez came on in relief of Reyes to record the final out of the 5th via K and will presumably be back out top of six.

How’d the O’Rae triple look?

O’Rae had a few hard hit balls. There are guys who run fast without it looking like they are running fast. With O’Rae it was very obvious how fast he was running. He has got some wheels.

Never fails. Whenever I go wanting to see a pitcher, they struggle. Herrera was laboring in the first.

Hey at least you got to see him settle in. Always love seeing a young pitcher bounce back from a laboring first inning to have a solid overall line.

Enniel Cortez, 18 yo (on 5/1), tonight with 2.1 IP, 0H, 1bB, 3K.  That’s 4.1 IP, 6K, 1H, 1BB for the young Nicaraguan on the very young ACL season.

Only DiTurri hitting much.

Each inning was better than the last. It is too bad he hit his pitch limit because the way he was pitching I think he probably gets through the fifth unscathed the way the fourth went.

I was able to talk to Brett Wichrowki's parents at his first AA start in Tennessee last week before the game got started.  They were very excited and happy he was drafted by the Brewers.  I asked about the improved velocity.  His dad just felt like it was in there and it was just now coming out.  The number 13 is a good number for them, and they were not worried about him being drafted in the 13th round last year.

The radar gun was not working, and I was busy entertaining some of the grand kids and some of their friends.  I was unable to watch a lot of the game.  lol

Cortez came back out for another inning and gave up a pair of singles which eventually both scored along with one more after he was relieved by Cristofher Carrasco.

Luckily the AZ Crew had scored one run bottom of seven via Tyler Rodriguez walk, Eric Bitonti single and Filippo single so the AZ Mariners barrage only evened the score to 4-4.

AZ Crew then bounced back bottom of eight with a two out three run rally consisting of an Edgardo Ordonez single, Johan Barrios walk, Luiyin Alastre single, Tyler Rodriguez reach on error and Bitonti single.

Brailin Rodriguez then went three up three down striking out a pair to save it in the ninth.

The formal Link Report for Friday's games will be delayed today as non-Brewers farmhand life occasionally gets in the way (hard to believe, right?).

Look for it by late morning and thanks for your patience.

Uribe worked around a single and beaning of Tristan Peters to put up a zero in the 7th.

Thankfully wasn't a beaning but a graze of the jersey on an inside pitch. The pitch then caught the umpire in the arm, causing a delay as the Bulls' trainer attended.
