He didn’t even have to dive! He literally got to it and then backed up. If he would have kept going he would have absolutely had caught that without diving. The guy shouldn’t be on the major league roster

He did not get to it. He would’ve had to dive for it regardless.

That it's a position of strength is more frustrating.  Ortiz couldn't stay in the lineup until last week.  Monasterio would be a fine utility guy, but has bounced between never playing and AAA.  Miller, Dunn, Black are all infield depth.  Part of that is mismanagement from Murph.  But if any reasonable return is offered for Adames he should be dealt.  It's not sacrificing much (if anything) now, and it's just better for the future.

The time to move Adames was the offseason when the dodgers showed interest. They have plenty of young pitching and we should have gotten some for Willy. Now his value is tanking and we may not even get the draft pick since he might not be offered arbitration.

Joey Ortiz is getting X-Rays on his foot. It was bothering him during the game which could be why he was bunting in the 10th

Let's see. What could the worst possible outcome be?

Stress fracture in his foot?

They’ll wake up tomorrow in first place, so the criticism is they should be winning even more?

Murphy literally has a rotation primarily filled with bullpen arms and cast offs; he has at least a half dozen first year players. He’s used 22 pitchers and it’s not even Memorial Day, his all world closer has been injured all season, their former NL MVP has missed a large chunk of time. Yet, he has them in first place and is getting more than anyone expected out of guys like Hudson, Wilson, Bauers, etc. Maybe Murphy deserves a little credit

His in game decisions & lineup decisions have been terrible

I’m confident you can see that too

I don’t disagree that we’ve had plenty of injuries - especially with our pitching

None of that negates Murphy being a terrible game manager

It's one game. Brewers have dealt with a rash of injuries... yet they are in first place in the central, have one of the best records in the NL and y'all are ready to run Murphy out of town?!?

Joey Ortiz said X-rays on his right foot were negative, so there’s a silver lining out of tonight for the Brewers.

Right lol. Their rotation is: Joe Ross, Bryse Wilson and Rae they are missing Devin Williams and Uribe hasn’t done anything.

It’s insane

Yes - you articulated the situation perfectly

All of what you wrote is true

Imagine what their record would be if all of these guys were healthy & we had a good manager

Yeah but I bet you won’t blame the players for failing right? JC catches an easy fly ball and it’s over. The ball doesn’t get stuck on Bauer’s ground rule double and they probably win

It was not an “easy fly ball”. Per statcast it was a 0% catch probability. lol

Not that I fully buy it was 0%, but you have to remember JC’s speed gets him to balls the average RFer doesn’t get to.

Much of this was no doubt touched on, but a few thoughts:

Overall, when you're both insufficient and unlucky the same night it's pretty tough to overcome.

I'm probably in the minority but I was fine with the Yelich bunt in the 10th. The Ortiz bunt was more questionable but IMO not in the "Murphy is a moron" category. If you're going to be hesitant to bunt there then Adames should be hitting where he probably would be for most teams--7th or 8th.

I thought the BP was managed really well given the impossible circumstances. I would've brought Peguero out for the 8th, but Hudson threw a scoreless frame anyway so no complaints.

I'm sure there's consternation about the lineup but the people I suspect were complained about had 3 of the 4 hits. I'm saying that while admitting I would've played Turang.

Kudos to Yelich for seeing that Willy was at the plate w/one out & deciding the best chance to score is to try to steal home.

Murphy’s poor decision making has not been a one game ordeal

He’s not a good manager … not a major league manager

I’m fine if you have a different opinion but I felt that way before tonight’s game

Tonight’s game is simply another example to support my opinion

Cool. Then give him credit for the 4th best record in the NL too.

Hell the ball hit by Bauer (who this board wanted to DFA not two weeks ago) would have been enough to end this game if not for the GRD rule (which MLB needs to fix)....

God this board is getting really bad with the complaining... not sure why I even stop in on here anymore.

While I would have liked to see him dive for it, I’m more upset with how he was positioned for the single with 2 outs.  IMO he was playing far too deep.

He was awfully deep for both 9th inning hits. The first one was understandable. The second was a positioning mistake. I agree it would've taken a close-to-miraculous catch.

Winning tonight would simply cover Murphy’s season long poor decision making

We’ve been winning in spite of him - certainly not because of him

Yeah. They had him positioned for no doubles defense when the tying run was already in scoring position. Coaching staff has to make sure that doesn’t happen.

So losses are on him and wins are in spite of him - got it.

Murphy really should have known where that ball was going to be hit though

Is Murphy just Adrian Griffin?

Pretty sure every Bucks fan on the planet would have rather kept AG than roll with Doc
