Peterson gave up the lead earlier. Peterson just surrendered the tie with a mammoth bomb to a lefty over the RF wall. That ball was absolutely smashed. Shuckers trail 5-4. Top of the 9th. One down as Peterson gets the K next.

Mitch White sees you Nate Peterson and raises you a meatball hanging breaking ball for a two-run Stripers smash over the LF wall. That ball just sat there. 11-8 Sounds trail. White doing vintage 2024 White things.

A quintet of singles from Eric Martinez, Adam Hall, Josh Adamczewski, Felix Valerio and Luiyin Alastre netted three runs for the Zona Crew who lead 3-1 bottom of three.

Wilken has a chance to tie it or take the lead or get on base here. 3-2 count. Man on 3rd base. Two down. He walks. Men on corners. Two down. 5-4 Shuckers still trail.

Zona Crew scored another run top of four when Antony Gomez singled, moved to third on a Johan Barrios base hit, then both moved up a base on a wild pitch.

The ACL Crew pitching staff is trying to show us why they lead the ACL in runs allowed. Bases juiced. One down. Clinging to a 4-3 lead. We have a double, two HBP's, and two walks so far this frame. Precarious lead feels the appropriate phrase.

What function does Mitch White have on the Brewers?

He's not on the 40-man anymore so none?

Manuel Rodriguez has to be the most impressive pitcher in the system this year and that's saying a lot because there have been a lot of impressive pitchers. He's the 3rd youngest pitcher in Low A this season (minimum 20 IP) yet after tonight he will be top 15 in IP among all A ball pitchers. He's at 53.2 IP and no other 18 year old in Low A has 40 IP. His 2.8% BB-rate after tonight is 6th lowest in A ball. He deserves a lot more love than he's been getting.

Well you know I glow about his work nearly every time he's on the mound. He pitches so far beyond his years it isn't funny. He is uncannily good at the art of pitching for his young age. His velo tops out at 90 maybe 91. He essentially sits 88-90. But, man, he's masterful at working the zone. Just a joy to watch sling the white rat. I get most of his starts too given I cover Tuesday games. A true gift in my 2024 personal first half.

He’s young, so hopefully he can gain velo moving-forward. Hard to get too excited over a pitcher with an upper 80’s/90mph FB.

I'd be surprised if he didn't add about 5 mph in the next 5 years. By then he'll be... 23.
