Blake what are you thinking really. But again way too many runners left on base without scoring runners. They need to correct this issue. But man so disappointed in another bad outing

A happy medium would be nice. Even my 6 yr old team that plays pitching machine have been told anything close foul it for another.

When you're talking about 2 strikes in the count, yep. I seldom if ever used to guess-hit so when I see it it's frustrating. W/two strikes it's tough to justify, especially when a lot of these guys can go oppo.

I don't understand why Monasterio didn't pinch run for Hoskins instead of Bauers.

Should have been Dunn. I would have pinch hit Bauers for Frelick. Frelick is both not a threat to hit an XBH and also a bigger threat than Bauers to GIDP.

Also didn't like that they sent Freddy who was sparingly given you 6 innings this year back out for the 6th when he had stunk it up today. That 6th run they scored off Freddy ended up being pretty darn impactful.

Jumping in late here, but Frelick has to go.  I don't care who they bring up.

Yeesh.

I was just looking at his stats and he is hitting .252 which isn't all that bad.

Chourio has taken a step forward coming up big in the 9th. He needs to play every day pretty much from here on out. Frelick and Perkins gotta fight it out. You really don't need both of them.

Figures.

That one for 16 with RISP really jumps out at you

4 for last 49.  At least. 3 for 12 the game before that I stopped at. .250 is ok.

Well, you need a 4th OFer. The problem is that Perkins profiled really well as a 4th OF due partly because he switch hits as well as defends. But now he starts most of the time as he should, and he's definitely better from the L side. So your only true presence from the R side in the OF is Chourio. Mitchell is on the way back, but he also hits LH. Isaac Collins switch hits & has pretty even splits but it doesn't seem he's on their radar (or on the 40-man).

Right now Tyrone Taylor looks like a better fit than Frelick, but that's hindsight. I doubt anyone thought that in February.

Agree 100% re Chourio.

Today was in my opinion Chourio's best game as an MLB player. That walk in the 2nd inning was so impressive. He strikes out 3 times in that PA if it was a month ago.

That single off Cruz’s splitter was equally as impressive. It wasn’t a well located pitch, but he managed to recognize it and stay back on the pitch and smoke the ball into left for a single. In comparison Turang had an equally hittable splitter two batters later but couldn’t stay back and hit a lazy pop up.

I feel like this was his first game this season where every PA was good. Just so, so impressive and I really hope it’s a sign of things to come.

Think I would move Chourio up the lineup and take Frelick spot in the lineup card.  Move Sal to the number 9 hole platoon with Perkins until Mitchell gets back next week.

I would also try to sandwich Hoskins between Yelich and William.  Hoskins needs to start driving in runs.

This is the lineup I would try for the next several games regardless of LHP or RHP going against us.

Turang 4; Ortiz 5; Yelich 7; Hoskins 3; Contreras 2; Adames 6; Chourio 9; Sanchez DH; Frelick(Perkins) 8

Send down either Dunn or Monasterio to AAA.  Get a backup catcher.  The bench is weak and Dunn, Monasterio, Bauers with either Frelick/Perkins isn't working.  To many players Brewers are trying to make work on the bench.  If Dunn or Monasterio were not used as the pinch runner for Hoskins then they are just taking up space.  At least with Bauers he can be used as a defensive replacement for Hoskins.

Try and get a LH power bat to upgrade the DH/Outfield position.  Could be Mitchell.  But I'd rather have Mitchell plus that.

Add 2 above average SP.

Hopefully we do this early rather than later.

I think it was somewhere in this game thread where somebody mentioned the game thread isn't about big picture and just this game. However, this game stings less for me because Chourio is the guy and not a couple years down the road, this season. Exciting times.

That comment about the game thread was one person’s opinion.

I think most posters see using things that happen in the game to make comments about the bigger picture are appropriate.

A .250 average with very little power is terrible for a RF. Especially one who is mediocre defensively with a weak arm.

Our Outfielders are... Perkins, Yelich, Chourio and Frelick....until Garrett Mitchell gets back unless we make a trade.

And batting over .300 the last 15 games I might add.  Personally I think he just needed to adapt to the speed of the MLB.  He has made a big jump.

The fact that they don’t have better options doesn’t make Frelick any less terrible.

It’s really terrible that the insistence on alternating LH and RH hitters as much as possible means he is often hitting 5th or 6th.

And my point is that he isn't terrible if you look at his numbers, He may not be clutch but overall... You have to look at the numbers.  Terrible he is not as overall hitting goes, his arm is more of my concern.

I have watched him play and have looked at the numbers. An OPS around .650 for a RF (where the league average is .720) is pretty terrible.

And it isn’t like he makes up for any of it with stellar defense.

Perkins is the one who screwed up yesterday in the 9th.

Frelick didn’t exactly help the cause with his blooper to the 2B with the bases loaded and nobody out.
