Contreras looked to be okay.

I think he jammed his finger. He takes a beating back there.

And of course mlb.com's headline is Elly scoring from second on a pickoff attempt.

Exciting is what most people are drawn to I guess.

MLB treats the Brewers like the Rodney Dangerfield of the league. "No respect at all"

Classic Brewers' series win. They usually get the job done, but sometimes you can't put a finger on how.

To get the W against a divisional rival in a series where we clearly didn't play our best ball is a nice result.

Now watch them lose 2 of 3 to the Angels.

I hope not but our history says we do not play well on the west coast for some reason.

As per usual, we get a couple of their better starting pitchers.  Going to be another difficult series if they can't find the offense.

I know people said good move to walk him, but putting the tying run in scoring position and putting De La Cruz on first intentionally where you pretty much lose the lead with a walk is pretty insane. This isn't the prime of Barry Bonds. So glad it worked out.

The tying run already was in scoring position. Adames throwing error went into the dugout so the runner got 2B.

More than anything I guess this game was a testament to defense in a launch angle, exit velo, need-to-add-a-bat world.

Rae gift wraps their second run.

Turang keeps the team in the lead by stealing a run on an eye-opener of a play in the hole.

Turang & Yelich manufacture a run, but it was a goose egg if not for his liner dropping behind Elly De La Heel-of-the-Glove.

Perkins steals one to close the 8th.

Rare E by Adames (only his fourth, didn't realize that) keeps Megill from a 1-2-3 ninth & costs us the lead if not for:

A fantastic end to the game & series, brought to you by the Blake Perkins Redemption Tour.

I didn't like it until I realized it was Espinal next. I rag on De La Cruz but he homered RH & tripled LH. He was locked in today. Risky but OK.

I do wonder if they intentionally walk Elly there if Candelario was on deck. Maybe they do because Elly was crushing the Brewers in this series, but it becomes a lot less automatic then it was with Espinal on deck.

I heard that Rock said something about the move to PR for Candelario. I was following on the radio and thought that was a mistake. You'd much rather face Espinal in that situation, and it made the decision to walk Elly a lot easier.

Of course, Espinal got the hit, but it was for sure a soft-contact special.

I thought Murphy managed this game quite well. He's been improving as an in-game manager, I think, and I appreciate his candor after Friday's loss.

As others have mentioned, that just felt like about as big of a series win as June could give you. Reds come in smoking hot, Brewers blow a big opportunity in game one (though, really, it was more an opportunity to STEAL a win than a game they should have won), and then they come back and take the next two to go up 4-2 on the Reds in the season series. Love, love, love that we have a winning record against everyone in division about halfway through our divisional slate. Believe we are 18-9 against the NL Central.

Let's rock the left coast just like we rocked the Mets on opening weekend.

One hell of a good question. Would love to hear from Murph on that.

Agree. I was hoping Koenig started the 8th to face De La Cruz but thought it would be a "This is Payamps' inning" deal. Was pleasantly surprised when he came out to face him. Of course he homered, but still thought it was the right move.

Well there’s 7 days off for Contreras.

Who do we have to bring up to help cover the catching duties?

Haase or Mejia would be the call up if Contreras needed to go on the IL.

Neither are on the 40-man though so someone will need to be removed as I believe the 40-man is at the maximum.

Yes that's correct. The only other catcher on the 40-man is Quero who it obviously won't be. Would need to be someone added to the 40.
