CF Jose Anderson is human afterall. Confirmed. His first fielding error of the summer. And, currently 0-for-2, w 2 K. Nice to see mortality still runs in his family!

The DSL Brewers Dos are currently being one-hit trailing 6-3 in the bottom of the 4th. RHP Christopher Peralta just gave up a two-run jack in the top half of the 4th - a 4-3 game broke open to 6-3. Peralta has worked 3.0 IP of 4 H, 2 BB, 2 K, 1 HR, 3 ER ball so far. The lone poke was a 3B Jonathan Rangel three-run double (2nd of his summer) in the bottom of the second for a short-lived 3-2 lead. The Red Sox Blue scored two in the next frame and haven't really peaked back since.

I just pulled up the MILB box scores and I'm confused. Is it still 2024? Both DSL teams losing? No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no

I know, my friend. I felt the same. Then I reminded myself. The grind continues and I must:

Silver lining in the DSL Crew #2's 8-7 loss:

CF Jose Anderson came up clutch yet again with a one-out rbi single to CF. THIS young man is truly something else. We have a true five-tool superstar upside prospect on our hands here. I don't think that is an overstatement. Emphasis on upside. Obviously, nothing is a sure anything working off DSL numbers but what he is doing on a weekly basis is undeniable. AND, just a reminder to us all he wasn't really a headliner in this class whatsoever. He signed for $60,000 and was labeled a 'Sleeper' by Baseball 'Merica:

Quote

Sleeper Watch

Dominican outfielder Jose Anderson signed with the Brewers for $60,000 with an impressive track record of hitting in games, especially relative to his signing amount. He’s 6 feet, 185 pounds with excellent bat control from the right side, with a disciplined approach and hand-eye coordination that produces a high contact rate. His power has started to trend up too, so it’s a mix of contact and some emerging juice. His bat is his calling card, with a chance for center field but a potentially landing in a corner.

Quite something.

Sweet.  He and Adamczewski have continued to hit. Looking forward to seeing them join DiTuri in Zebulon.

That will be an interesting IF: 3B Bitonti, SS DiTuri, 2B Adamczewski, 1B ? Walling, with Baez mixed in too once healthy from his rehab.

Time to move Pratt and maybe Y Garcia up?

Blake Burke might start in Carolina for like a week or so because there's no ACL to get a prospect up to speed although I wouldn't be surprised if he just goes straight to Wisconsin.

I forgot about him..

Burke - Adamczewski - DiTuri - Bitonti

and Baez at DH so he doesn’t have to field lol

I do wonder if Tyler Rodriguez might get moved to Carolina when the season ends in Arizona. He's had a nice hitting season. 125 wRC+ coming into tonight with a 16% BB-rate and 14% K-rate.

All a good problem to have - competition among players performing well.
‘Let’s hope these performances continue and grow as we bring in new players.

I really don't like that rookie ball is over about a week and a half after the draft. Moving the draft back doesn't give us a early look at the young guys.

Move the draft up to like July 1st a week after the CWS, then move the ACL back like a week. Everything seems to align better in my head.

Yeah, at the time of the original discussions, our collective 'concern' was quite clearly: "Where do the draft picks play to get their proverbial feet wet?" Avoiding the heat of August was the low-hanging fruit as to why they may have moved it up. But, with the stateside roster reductions underway in 2024 it certainly puts a finer micron filter on which prospects continue to develop and take advantage of organizational support and which prospects don't get that opportunity any longer.
