Hopefully Hoskins opts out. I'm guessing if he gets to 25 homers he will. Brewers need to allocate those dollars elsewhere. If you can get out of Yelich deal do it.

Hoskins brings nothing to the table but homers (which is why his WAR is close to 0) and even his homer total won’t even be amongst the league leaders there.

His player option for ‘25 is 18 million dollars, no club is going to give him that or more on a one year free agent deal. With his play to date, I highly doubt any team would give him a multi-year guarantee.

I think most likely, he exercises his player option and the Brewers work out another trade (like they did with JBJ) to dump his contract.

“These guys have overachieved all year and I’m not going to get down on them, that’s for sure,” Murphy said.

Sheesh, I'm not saying he's wrong, but seems like we're already setting the table for our "we accomplished a lot this season winning our division and we were just happy to be here" speech after our first round gentleman's sweep exit.

Right, but you have to hear what he’s saying. He has 2 veteran SP who have stayed healthy all year.

He has no SPs averaging six innings a start. His star hitter and star reliever have missed most the season with injuries and the roster has been a MASH unit all season.

It sounds like the description of a last place club, yet coming down the stretch they’ve got a healthy lead in their division.

It's not that I disagree with him. I just don't know if it's a great thing to come out and say in a winning culture.

One minute he's calling out their approaches at the plate, and saying they're overwhelmed by the moment. The next is this.

Pat's a great vibes guy but I don't know if he's built for the big chair long term. The in-game management kinda stinks, and he spends a lot of time calling the guys out while taking little accountability himself.

In basketball, I've heard coaches say there's no such thing as a half-shot. It's either going in or it's not, so eff it, let it fly. I'd like to see this group take that approach more, especially against LA. They're way too tight.

I didn't see the presser. I'm glad to hear he called out their approaches at the plate. he's right. The ABs by Frelick & Ortiz w/runners at 2nd & 3rd were horrible, and the one by Turang w/the 1st & 3rd. Their mental approach reminded me of eighth-graders on the sandlot being toyed with by a HS pitcher. And they've all been much, much better than that from the neck up, against much better pitchers, that's what's infuriating.

My guess is they never intended for Murphy to have the job long-term. IMO he takes more heat than he deserves, but over an entire season yeah, there are always going to be moves we disagree with. I've had some. What I'd like to know right now is how much of a hand does he have in some of the roster decisions.
