AND, just like that LF Hedbert Perez shows us all why I've been touting his arm in the OF. He plays a first batter rocket off the LF wall to open the Kernel's bottom half of the 9th frame with quickness and skill and fires an absolute one hop dart to 2B to grab the runner out in a bang-bang play. As per usual, kudos to Areinamo for the clean gather and fast tag. Just an absolute diamond cutting throw. I've been telling you: he has a very very plus arm. It's why those misfires he's had with possible OF assists at home plate have been so frustrating. THAT was a game saving play there. Rund K's the next batter.

Brock Wilken answered my calls.

A rocket in Rocket City to left. 3-3 tie game!!

My baseball gods we absolutely needed that. He crushed that ball.

T-Rats win 2-1! LOVE it! Big time comeback 'W'.

And Rund makes the last two batters look silly with swinging Ks. Just no chance.

Game, set match for TRats thanks to the key HR from "mini-Garcia" 😉

Man I wish we had a replay of that Hedbert Perez dart. That was such a clutch play. And, it's everything I've been sharing with all of you. When he handles the ball cleanly, he's an absolute weapon. That arm is a rocket launcher.

Black takes a walk - with the bases loaded, and it's 10-4 Sounds. Let's keep it going.

Meanwhile Chase Costello makes his AA debut. And retires the first batter.

EDIT: make that two straight by Chase, with a slick fielding play by Wilken. Nice to see him "back" at least for this game.

Cargo answers your bell. Oppo bloop single with two down plates two more. 12-4 Sounds.

oh my. Chase Costello with a nasty pitch and a strike out ... BUT .. passed ball by Miller and runners on 1st and 2nd base. Instead of inning over, it's a tough spot for Chase.

He gets the weak line out to Murray to end the threat.

@Joseph Zarr "your boy" Tyler Jay is in 😉.

(For others - not that there is anything wrong with him just a head scratcher trade, and losing a fan fav)

I obviously want Jay to do well. But, yes, I miss my man RHP TJ Shook. AND, seeing how desperate the Shuckers staff is for meaningful pitchers who can eat precious innings the trade looks worse and worse with each passing game down in Biloxi. Tell me the Sounds and/or Brewers need Jay more than the Shuckers need Shook as they push for a playoff berth. Not to mention, four years and more upside. Is what it is but my 'pain' is real. LOL.

And Warren breaks the tie.

Another just rocket - this time to RF.

Is that why it's Rocket City???

ANd Tyler Jay gets out of the inning. Nice play by Black for out #2, and nice pitch to K Brian Anderson (yes that Brian Anderson)

Lovely to see this form from RHP Chase Costello. No doubt, one of my favorite unsung relievers in the system. He is absolutely throwing filth. Lotta movement on everything.

ROller just crushed his second long ball over the LF fence. That's two tonight. That's three over the past two weeks. Love it for him. Such a fantastic defensive player. Lovely to see him find some success at the dish. 406 ' over that LF wall.

Man Chase is looking right at home in AA.

They lose a huge pitcher in Shane Smith (congrats) and gain a key relieve in Chase. But that is one less arm for Wisconsin. That's the fine balance of affiliate ball - team goals and player development don't always go together and player development is the goal of the organization. Good luck to both young men, but a nice 2 innings for Costello. Hoping to give the 7th to Yeager, let's see if we can get an insurance run please!

Shuckers robbed of a man in scoring position here in the 7th when the infield ump called Adam Hall out on a slide at 2B. Nice throw. Bang-bang play. He was definitely safe. And, Miller walks just after. Costly call by that ump. Wilken to the dish.

Just thinking - how many UDFA/Indy league pitchers do the Brewers have in the system who are moving along nicely?

AAA - Shane Smith, Ryan Middendorf, Meeker

AA - Hunt, Bowman, Merkel, Childers and Costello

A+ - Rund, Bryant and Root

Who am I missing?

Wilken K'd looking on an 0-2 slider. Ump blew the call. WIlken K'd swinging on a 1-2 off-speed pitch dead center. Two down. Miller at first.

EMJ rips one through the right-hand side. With a catcher playing RF, EMJ headily grabs second base. Men in scoring position for EBJ. Can he rise to the two out occasion?

And EBJ with a lazy pop up halfway up the first base line. The pitcher, catcher and 1B all converge.

And NO ONE catches it. What a break for EBJ.
Can he take advantage????

EBJ works the count full. He is gifted another chance after a pop fly into 1B foul territory fell between three Pandas. He walks. Bases juiced. Two down. 4-3 Shuckers. Top of 7th. Sparks to the dish.

EBJ draws a walk.

And then Sparks!! a single to RF and it's a 2 run single now. Shuckers up 6-3

Misio in to close it out for Nashville. A little wild, but has 2 outs.
