We lost and Jordan Love might have suffered a serious injury. I get putting things in perspective after 1 game but I'm not exactly sure how things could have possibly gone worse than that first sentence.

Maybe we can tank. Who’s the best college QB coming out for the draft this year?

Well, at least I didn't pay for a month of Peacock...

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

Musgrave had a pretty quiet and unimpressive camp. Followed by an extremely quiet and unimpressive game. This is not a good development. He still runs straight routes. Has no shiftiness. Has no real blocking ability. Is he literally just a one trick run straight and fast pony? He failed to cut off his route on the Love INT. Just ran a lazy route. Real concerns here. Kraft is easily the better TE at this juncture.

what part of "if Love is out 8 weeks we are hosed" did you not understand?

I also understood the "I'm not that upset part" last and I don't know how anyone can't be upset with what just unfolded.

Wow, this thread really went to pity party mode.

Its one loss in a preseason game that counts.  relax...

Total fourth quarter points scored for the Packers in the last three games...10.

you're counting the Dallas game?

Another draft disappointment.

It's not a great class. We'd go defense picking in the top 5, I'd think.

it was a sloppy game, the refs were flag happy, it was a bad field, the eagles are very good, They weren't going to go 17 - 0

I get that. It is one loss. And, I think it's also quite fair to (1) criticize the NFL for that colossal dumpster fire of a product they just showed the world and (2) complain about repeat issues.

I don't really fault overall sloppiness or penalties that were clearly not penalties. BUT, certainly there are some repeating issues.

True. I also look back at most of the other games last season and we were not a good fourth quarter scoring team.

Coming to the conclusion that I'm not sure Love is a particularly great clutch quarterback.

Yeah, my take is still if Love misses a game or two at worst, they’ll still make the postseason. This game was frustrating, but I baked that into the cake going into this thing. This team, if healthy, is going to be far and away different by December.

But it’s going to come down to the state of 10’s leg. Everything else is correctable.

The Eagles didn’t look “very good” tonight.

I think, despite Narvs' mis-hit on the 43 yarder I really liked what I saw from him. Way more confident his kicks are going in than Carlson.

Nixon taking the ball out with only 30 seconds and costing his team 15 yards is amazing. As is Jaire's decision to take it out. Just spitfire CB nonsense. Otherwise known as: unintelligent football decisions.

I respect telling yourself what is necessary to sleep at night lol.

Same crap as ever. Hyped up defense with pricy additions that leaves the middle of the field seemingly unguarded. New kicker missing same clutch kick. Opening game where team looks like they haven't played football before.

People are sick of this team and it's very hard for me to blame them. They have been a massive disappointment for 15 years.

I wouldn't go that far. It's only year 2. He's a TE. But, Kraft shows way more a complete game. Musgrave just hasn't looked the part of anything other than a seam-buster burner. Like an absolute one-trick pony at present. He is fast but I just don't see intelligent routes or an ability to cut. He also has gone down like a bag of bricks when touched or when not even touched. It's still too early but I'm just nowhere near as bullish as the pundits.

I mean the line sucked, but any QB with even a hint of elusiveness manages to spin out of the pocket on that one and at least get a throw off.

Yep a bit of both. O-line couldn't handle a 3-man rush and give Willis any time.

Willis didn't have the slightest awareness and couldn't avoid being tackled in the key play of the game.

Yay!

What I dont understand more is how your ST coordinator is not having a conversation with Nixon prior to the kickoff and saying "we need as much field position and time as we can get, you are not bringing this out no matter what."

With a FG out of the equation, I kinda feel like the kickoff might be your most realistic chance to score a TD. I don't have a big issue with it. It's like #32 on my list of reasons the Packers suck right now.

Well, the unfortunate thing here is: I wouldn't doubt for one moment they actually decided to let their All-Pro returner a green light to give it a go knowing their odds were slim. I would go 60/40 the thinking was let Nixon try to make something happen.

My initial impressions of the Love injury based on the aftermath of it is that it is not going to be a season threatening, long-term thing.

But that is nothing more than a layman, non-qualified opinion.

I'm watching replays of it now and can't tell if it's knee or ankle. If it's ankle he may have dodged one.

Tbh I think Love will be fine. If they thought it was worse he would have been out of there immediately but he just kind of sat on the bench with a trainer not really doing anything. Idk. I'm also just a layman but I think he's ok.
