Both have roughly the same WAR for the season...it's just that Frelick had about 80 more games played to accumulate that total.  

 

Frelick is a winning player, but Mitchell is better - much better.

 

I agree, plus he is fresh and rested from only playing in 67 games this season.

I don't like the idea of either being in the OF, especially in a playoff scenario. But Miller has been out there, albeit briefly. And they've been throwing Black out there a bit in the 2nd half of Nashvilles' season. I agree that neither are great choices. But if Frelick has to be shelved the pickings are pretty slim.

I didn't consider Rodriguez. But he would fit the organizational profile of someone that can do the job with the glove, & he's played all 3 OF positions. Might be overmatched at the plate, but then again the guy strikes out, like, hardly ever so he would at least give himself a chance. So yeah, maybe.
