I'm more disappointed with the way the Brewers responded to the 5th inning than the 5th inning itself. It's hard to say that they don't deserve to be booed right now.

They had their chance at an early knockout blow but failed.  Then let themselves down in the 5th.  Pretty much the story.

One of the weird things about baseball is that it strides the "totally random" and "analytically logical" lines so nicely, that we're always going tempted to graft huge narratives onto the playoffs. We need cogency and answers, but the sample size really can't provide it, so it's an awkward fit.

The Brewers haven't played very well tonight. Some of it is randomness. Some of it is maybe nerves. Some of it is just lapses of concentration and focus. We're not "cursed." The trajectory of the moment will not be the trajectory of forever.

This team doesn't quit, and it won't. I don't know if they'll win, but I'd bet on them not going out quietly in this series.

I once read a book about backgammon. It was "The Cruelest Game." The author compared backgammon to baseball managing. You can make the best decision based on probabilities, but the dice can make your odds irrelevant.  Bad plays by Chourio and Adames were like the "unlucky" dice.

What a disappointing performance in game one of a short series

Now we have two “must win” games or our season ends abruptly once again

Probably just one must win game.

The tiniest of silver linings is the fact that it won't be the Cubs or the Cardinals that we are going to have a playoff meltdown against

Welcome to the life of a brewer fan in the postseason. Going on five straight years. As a twins fan, you certainly know this feeling..

He should have started today

Freddy Peralta is not blameless but he is not near the top of the reasons that we lost today.

True. Let's face it: we'd be very disappointed in anything short of a World Series victory.

Why do people keep saying that Adames made a bad play.  He had no shot at an out at 1B or 2B even if he fields that ball cleanly.

The Chourio error was the nail in the coffin, add that to Peralta's 2nd inning, Payamps not properly covering 1B, and the Bauers at bat with bases loaded, and we have a bunch of reasons this game is the way it is.

Nope, just David Stearns' new team.

Giving up three runs in four innings is not good enough.

Once again, never said he was blameless.

They were still winning and he was throwing well when he exited the game.

I fully believe that we win tomorrow's game, only to be gut punched on Thursday.

Begs the question, would we rather lose the series in 2, or draw it out, only to be psychologically devastated after 3 games?

I'll even go as far as to say that if we win tomorrow, I can see us winning the series on Thursday...

Freddy is not our ACE, I posted that before the game even started.

Throw that "undaunted" garbage out the window until they actually accomplish something to earn that kind of swagger. It's embarrassing when you come into a game with that kind of a motto and go out whimpering after a rally as bad as they did in the last 5 innings.
