Sign Moncada for third or Polanco for 2nd.  Should be an affordable 1-2 year deal and Boeve and/or Wilken will be ready once their contract expires.  You give up no prospect capital too…

Why on earth does anyone think Moncada is going to help us?  What has he done for such respect?

Always hurt, and when not hurt, just plain disappointing.  He is no longer a prospect, he is a failure, so why would we want to spend the money it would take to get him?  No thanks.

MLB.com just mentioned Frelick had only three barrels in 400 batted balls this year.
That seems historically low.

Frelick mentioned this in an interview last spring, I believe, when he mentioned that he was too good at making contact, resulting in fewer barrels, and that he needed to improve his swing decisions to make better contact more often. Perhaps easier said than done, I guess.

I, for one, choose to believe in the talent, and that we'll see a nice bump in production in his age-25 season. I'll predict he ISOs in the .150s, and reaches 10+ dingers. 30 doubles and a handful of triples.

Sure as hell barreled one up against the Mets in the playoffs!

Out of 324 players with at least 500 PAs the last two years, Sal’s 1.3 Barrel% ranks 323rd.

Definitely ugly, but Steven Kwan is 318th at 1.7% and Luis Arraez is 310th at 2.5% so it isn’t necessarily a death sentence.

I refuse to believe (even though I am probably wrong) that the Brewers are entertaining the idea of Frelick as our starting, normal, everyday 3B.

It seems like a really bad idea.

I hope he wins a gold glove there. Then we can complain how Frelick just doesn't have enough pop for a corner infield spot.

Why wait? I'll start. He just doesn't have enough pop for a corner infield spot, gold glove or not.

Jim Gantner and his 2,600 innings at 3B would like a word. 🙂

You're right. They won a lot of playoff games with Gantner. I forgot.
