I guess Rick Sweet needs another healthy position player. The real significance of this is probably that Mr. Flores is stateside, so in theory will join the ACL Brewers when things settle. We‘ll see.

Ethan Murray with his 867 OPS in AA is saying "What the..."

Honestly, there are a whole slew of middle infielders worthy of promotions that could ripple through the org to add some depth to these teams. I never understand why the Brewers do this (granted its infrequent).

He played in the ACL last night. That is where he was moved to and assigned.

It was just a strange bookkeeping data entry error.

Roster Update: Gillis to Wisconsin; Welch added from Wisconsin; Vire to 7-day IL
The Brewers and Mudcats recently announced a series of roster transactions

ZEBULON, N.C. – The Milwaukee Brewers recently announced a series roster transactions affecting the Carolina Mudcats active roster. The announced moves includes the promotion of RHP Tanner Gillis from the Mudcats to A+ Wisconsin, the addition of RHP Chandler Welch from A+ Wisconsin and LHP Caden Vire placed on 7-day IL.

The Carolina Mudcats roster is currently at 27 active players and 3 players on the injured list.

In summary: 
5/15: RHP Tanner Gillis promoted from Carolina to A+ Wisconsin
5/15: RHP Chandler Welch added to Carolina from A+ Wisconsin
5/15: LHP Caden Vire placed on 7-day IL

I am happy to see Vire is only a 7-day IL stint at least. Pray that it is not more than that.

And Gillis and Welch swapping teams makes sense seeing how Gillis needs the challenge, and Welch could use a chance to get some confidence back.

So I went to the archive of Wed.’s game because Murray was removed from the game after drawing a walk in the top of the 2nd, loading the bases.

But how and why? Nothing definitive but appeared (perhaps?) he strained an oblique as he looked a tad uncomfortable during his at-bat. He grabbed his left side ever so briefly on the 2-1 pitch. But that is speculation and it could be a lower-body injury for all we know.

Not the best detective work, I am aware. The 01:27:00 hour/minute mark for those with an MiLB full subscription allowing for archive viewing.

• RHP Jose Nova assigned to Wisconsin Timber Rattlers from ACL Brewers.

2025 only marks Nova's 2nd season of action as a professional, yet the Dominican native already turned 23 years old in April.

Nova debuted with 18 relief appearances in 2024, split between Maryvale (11) and Carolina (7). He walked 21 (plus four HBP's, 12 wild pitches) but also fanned 27 in his 24.1 innings, somehow limiting his ERA to 4.81. He was sidelined for ten days in mid-August and was placed on the IL again in mid-September.

He has made two appearances with the Arizona Complex squad in the early 2025 season, and has shown enough to jump to Wisconsin at this time.

Nova originally signed with Boston in August of 2021 but never pitched for them. He signed with Milwaukee in November of 2023.

RHP Yorman Galindez is full go off of the mound and will be facing live hitters this coming week.  His return to game action seems to be just around the corner!

Hey do you have any news on Hayden Robinson? I feel like most just assumed he wouldn't have pitched in the ACL this year after a late June/early July TJ surgery, but Longenhagen said in his prospect write-up that Robinson is slated to return to game action soon.

Robinson is scheduled to make his first appearance of the season on June 6th which will be a 1-inning start for the ACL Brewers and he will progress from there.

21-year-old RHP Yeferson Tales released. He made 18 appearances (one start) in the DSL over the past two summers. 30 free passes (20 walks, 10 HBP's) in 33.2 IP. A 6.68 ERA and another 12 unearned runs allowed as well - need to stop the bleeding sometimes. Did strike out 39.

Not to make light of his release, but no idea when else I could have ever posted this video  I found on Yeferson Tales’ TikTok this offseason. He certainly pitched with emotion!

Edit: video appears to work on mobile but not on a computer. I have no idea how to fix this.
