Devin Williams crushed again.

At least he’s pitching

I can’t believe Milwaukee took back Cortes only to have him experience a repeat of the same injury he had late last season

Hopefully Durbin becomes a solid contributor for the Brewers

I’m not all that surprised by Williams struggling in New York

And if you recall … the 2023 Brewers team was often challenging to watch … it was often ugly baseball … eerily similar to the 2025 season thus far

At 64, as a lifetime baseball & Brewers fan, I’m well aware that the season is long … I’m also aware when the team doesn’t look good & unfortunately, that is the case so far this season

Seldom in 2024 did the Brewers look like they’ve looked this season

Then you should know better than anyone that April is way too early for generalizations. There's a probably a team in first place tonight that will win 78 games.

There certainly may be such a team

I can’t imagine that this team - even with a few arms returning soon - will make or advance in the playoffs against some of the NL elite teams

Our offense, defense, & pitching … along with Murphy making consistently bad in game decisions … have all performed at a mediocre level

Like everyone else contributing to these in game threads - I hope I’m wrong & we go wild & win 100 games in route to the World Series … but they looked much better in 2024

So you think baseball’s system was the cause of their bad defense? Turang is so mentally worn down by economic inequity that he forgot how to turn a double play?

Read it again, and think it over some more.  :classic_biggrin:

Those Cardinals City Connects are so meh.

I agree. I actually don't mind them but they don't seem different enough to be City Connects.

Yeah they look like their ST unis.

I love math … since I was a kid, I started breaking the 162 game season into six segments … 27, 54, 81, 108, 135, & 162

Tonight, we risk being under .500 after the first segment

I’m sure we will get hot at some point & have a good segment or two

It is unlikely that the Brewers make the playoffs unless they win the NL Central

There are several quality if not elite NL teams that may be more capable of occupying the wild cards

Wow, PH for Ortiz. I like it.

Ortiz could have grounded out. Now we get to watch Capra with the bat.

Another odd decision by our skipper.

The plight of small market baseball in the Rig Leagues ... depending on young guys to play like salty vets in big TV markets like NY, CHI, LA, HOU, ATL, STL, PHI, SF, SD, etc.

The Brewers have overcome the rigged status of MLB to a large degree winning division championships 3 of the last 4 seasons, BUT it surely is an overwhelming task to keep up that level of winning given the large inequities in payroll across the league solely because of market size.

Go slay Goliath again, Brewers!

Even with our payroll, we can play really good, error-free baseball.

Solid innings by Yoho. Hopefully he starts to move up in the pecking order and we begin seeing him in leverage instead of TYLER ALEXANDER

RIP Bob Uecker. The bozos in the booth now are nearly unlistenable. from the best radio broadcast to the worst in a blink of an eye.

Ueck wasn't traveling much toward the end, but your point is well made.

I’m envious of anyone who has such a positive outlook … especially after watching the Brewers play this season

I too have a positive outlook like oldschoolsnapper.

His era is now 11.49. Fans are killing him at home. Maybe we can get him back. Lol

Every single person on this chat board knew he would struggle in the big market of New York.
