NOTE: For this week and next, there will not be a formal stand-alone Link Report for the lone Brewers minor league Monday game from the Arizona Complex League. Ben of our staff will return for the Monday games of June 2nd, which coincides with the start of the Dominican Summer League. Monday’s game in Arizona will be covered within Joseph’s Tuesday Link Report.

The Maryvale Brewers have a day off on Tuesday.

The box score and game summary for Monday’s ACL Brewers at ACL Royals game in Surprise at 8:00 PM Central will be found here.

This thread will be utilized for any minor league news Monday and Tuesday.

OK getting some better-than-the-worse-case-scenario news here. Pena should be OK after that really awkward collision, and Siegler news is good given the circumstance. Bummer on Payne, but I do hope he gets better soon, and also hope that was maybe a factor in his recent slump?

No news on Ramon Rodriguez, which I will expect the worst. As posted in the Minor League transactions, with Dinges moving up I do suspect some catching carousel (Ordonez moving around, and hopefully a placement for Quero) to even out the 2-3 catchers per team

Lineup for this evening’s action from the Arizona Complex League…

Tyler Black 1B
Jeferson Quero C
Jorge Quintana SS
Handelfry Encarnacion RF
Kevin Garcia DH
Juan Ortuno 2B
Kevin Ereu 3B
Jadyn Fielder LF
Engel Paulino CF
Jayden Dubanewicz P

Dubanewicz worked around a pair of walks in the first, but gave up a run in the second surrendering a double and triple. Three of his six outs have come via strikeout.

GameDay has the full on StatCast experience tonight.

Looks like Dubanewicz is working with a sinker/four seam in the 92-94 MPH range, a 78-80 MPH curve, and a 80-82 MPH slider.

Went three up three down three groundouts in the third.

Not much action for the offense but some hard hit balls through the third include a 107 MPH double and 106 MPH groundout from Tyler Black, a 110 MPH Jeferson Quero groundout, and a 109 MPH Juan Ortuno groundout.

Dubanewicz strikes out the side in the fifth, dropping in a few 84-86 MPH change ups too.

Of his ten batted balls so far he’s at nine grounders and one line drive.

Jadyn Fielder greeted the new Royals pitcher by ambushing a first pitch 96 MPH fastball for a double, then advanced to third on a balk.

Tyler Black has walked putting runners on the corners one down for Quero who gets hit with an 81 MPH curveball to load the bases for Jorge Quintana.

& we’ve got a mound visit.

Ethan Dorchies on in the 6th and he’s working mostly with a 93-95 MPH four seamer. Dropped in a couple 84 MPH sliders, a 92 MPH sinker and a 90 MPH cutter.

Worked around a leadoff single and stolen base to put up a zero with one K and two fly outs.

Yeah Dorchies isn’t just touching 95, he hit 94.x on 6 of his 16 pitches (10 -11 fastballs by my count). Sure one inning but that’s a good sign for his velo.

Yet another 1-2-3 for Dorchies. And that’s game. 5-1

Dorchies 42 pitches for 30 strikes. Hitting 92.x in his final inning.

Yeah, looks like he was a little amped up getting some extra juice that first inning before settling in around 92-93 last couple frames.

Either way, hard to argue with those kind of results from a pitcher who doesn’t turn 19 for five more months.

Yep. 19:3 K:BB ratio, with all 3 coming in one inning? That’ll play.

Dorchies looks fascinating. Really good spin and his command looked pretty darn good for an 18 year old in the Complex. A lot of pitches right on the edge or just off it.
