Rund comes on for the 9th again.  He gives up a walk and then a DP and ends the night. t-Rats 5-2 win over South Bend. Very solid start by Hardin.

Shuckers have Petersen in for a second inning. And he is through 2 scoreless  shuckers 2-1  lead

speaking of scoreless. Az Brewers keep Az Rangers off the scoreboard. Renz 2 IP with 3H and 3K.

After that Boeve hit it’s been 7 straight retired Shuckers. Clinging to a 2-1 lead. Top I and Bryant may be coming in to relieve Petersen.

Az Crew gives up a run (HR off Renz) and scoreless no more.  Rangers are a good team by stats. So more of a even match up for the baby Crew.

Bryant struck out the second batter and makes him look bad just a defensive swing. Next pitch grounder to Adams and on to bottom of 8.

Az Crew get a couple of runs. Single, ground out, single, ground out, single and. Ow walk. It’s a 2-1 lead..

Shuckers threaten again but no insurance runs. The shaky Yeager will come in.

And wow I sleep on the Sounds. Down 6-1, a “ho hum” 5-run inning gets them back in. That’s some bite and life in that there club. Nice

Yeager slams the door. Works around a HBP.  Shuckers win. 25-17 from a team that started 1-7. That’s 24 wins out of 34 games. Impressive.
Great team effort even if the lumber wasn’t there.

Handelfry!! 2 run HR. Its 4-1 Az Crew

It’s like Anderson got promoted and he decided to replace all the production himself. Since starting 0-7, he has posted a 1.230 OPS with as many walks as strikeouts.

Quintana was a single to bring in another run. 6-2 Az Crew. Quintana 5 hits in his first 40 AB

Now 7 fro his last 13 the past three games including tonight.

Nittoli trying to keep it tied in the 9ty in Nashville.

That is Spencer's guy dating back to last DSL season. You love to see it!

These DSL prospects are consistently coming stateside and hitting the ground running (and at young ages!). Hard to pick an area where they’ve made the biggest strides over the last 10 years: international scouting/development or pitching development?

It’s off to extras for the Sounds in Nashville. I don’t think I have extras in me tonight.

Az Crew got 5 solid from Renz. King got a scoreless 6th. They still lead 6-2 in the 7th.

Sounds wasted a golden opportunity in the bottom of the 10th. Nittoli held serve top half. Bases juiced. One down. Wes Clarke PH K. Jimmy Herron grounds out to 3B. They did the Brewers proud there. 😂

Dang it. Clarke Ks swinging. Herron grounder to third and throw off lone but they tag him out still. Glorious chance to get me to bed …errr … to win the game. Bummer.

Houdini act by Stallings. Runners on the corner after fielders choice on a bunt (didn’t see but no out made), then Ks the next three to keep it tied. Wow

Az Crew close it out. Renz and King combine for 9 innings for 2 runs allowed on 7 hits and 9 K with only 1 walk. Very different pitching staff in the ACL this year.

Deep fly to RF corner. “Single” by Rosario walks it off for the Sounds.
‘it’s a 4-1 night in the farm system. Not too shabby

Here are the K/BB ratios (& ages) for the eleven Zona Crew pitchers with at least 5 IP…

Renz (18)
15 IP | 13 K | 3 BB

Dubanewicz (19)
13 IP | 14 K | 4 BB

Dorchies (18)
12 IP | 19 K | 3 BB

Mercedes (18)
10.1 IP | 18 K | 4 BB

King (19)
10.1 IP | 8 K | 3 BB

Mercado (18)
10 IP | 13 K | 2 BB

Tobias (19)
8 IP | 9 K | 0 BB

Carra (18)
7 IP | 9 K | 1 BB

Quezada (21)
6.2 IP | 9 K | 2 BB

Aparicio (19)
6 IP | 7 K | 3 BB

Meneses (20)
5.1 IP | 8 K | 2 BB

Obviously still dealing in early season small sample territory, but pretty impressive stuff from a group of predominantly teenage hurlers to open the year.

Seigler is starting to look more & more like a guy that could fill a bench role nicely at the MLB level. Looking forward to seeing if it's realistic to add 3B to his versatility list.

Also hope to see Boeve slip on the fielders' glove soon.

I've heard Quero is heading back to Nashville soon. True?

They have the fewest walks in the ACL while throwing the most innings with the league’s youngest staff. That is … astounding.

I wonder if there's some inside info on this from the Burke family? And the corresponding moves for other hitters in Double A

AFA the corresponding move if Blake was to be promoted, Wilken would be the first guess, although Warren could always step down from his role as mayor.
