Wed. 6/11 - Big-League Matinee, So Follow the Farm Tonight (Complex Kids Idle)

Peña is taking some absolute hacks against the Hillcats' Alfaro. Unfortunately, he is missing mightily at his off-speed offerings. Can't quite get a barrel on the ball. Two down. 0-2 count. He pops up to the catcher who drops the ball as he falls into the netting. Peña gets a gift.

Mudcats strand two for the second time. Peña legged out an infield single to put runners on the corners. Bitonti grounded out to 2B. 2-1. They head to the bottom of 5th.

AND, just like that the sloppy play continues across the system. Anderson misplays a ball to the RF corner. Gives the runner time to get to 3B. Sends in a run as well. He missed his relay man regardless.

This just in: Brewers baseball is not easy to watch at any level today.

2-2 game at Lynchburg. Nobody down. Man on 3B.

Sounds trail 3-1.

T-Rats trail 1-0.

Saving Shuckers for later.

And, now Areinamo misplays and botches a slow roller to SS. Men on 1st and 2nd for Hardin instead of a force out at 1B one down man on 2B.

Dubanewicz gets the high chopper and Peña makes a fantastic charging throw to home plate. Gets the out preserving the 2-2 tie. Love to see it. Ordonez with the nice grab and hold and tag as well. Big time.

Just fantastic work by Jayden to escape a 2-2 game. No outs. Man on 3B. Incredible work from Peña that inning at 2B. Huge to preserve the tie. Heck of a tip of the cap for his Low-A debut. Not easy conditions to debut in.

And the error is costly. As is the inability to get a K looking on an outside slider. Looked like a strike. Check swing may have been a strike regardless. The batter clears the bases with a two-run left CF gapper on the next pitch. 3-0 T-Rats trail.

Myers just hit a batter on the hand up and in with two down in the bottom of the 4th. Facing the next batter. First pitch. He nailed the batter in the helmet. My goodness. Not good. He looks like he'll be ok. That pitch was smach dab on the face guard. Sheeeesh Tobes.

AND, Jose Anderson follows his misplay in RF by striking out on a pitch clock violation. Yikes. Di Turi just missed a rip to the RF corner - Xtra bases or HR - by about 3 feet inside the foul pole. Man. So close.

Time to take a break from these games. Tough watches. Poor execution across the board. Hopefully, it's going better for Biloxi. Not watching until these are over. Farm chores await!

This Eriq Swan guy on the Great Lakes Loons has got to be one of the most underrated prospects in all of baseball. How he's an org top 15-30 guy makes no sense to me. One of the best looking pitchers I've seen all year in the minor leagues regardless of level.

Wow. Came into the game with 23bb in 28i. 17er allowed. Good K numbers.

He's 5 months older than Misiorowski but kind of Misiorowski-esque and tonight was a night where he had good feel for command

It was fitting I returned from my chores and I get a first pitch RHP Bryan Rivera hanging off-speed pitch belted over the wall in LF. 3-2 Lynchburg leads. Hurt me! Rivera continues his tailspin. This Mudcats bullpen is gutted right now.

Rivera gets two weak ground outs. Two down. 0-2 count. Uncorks one in the dirt to the back stop. Uncorks a heater high and over Ordonez to the backstop. Slider high and inside off the batter's back. Amazing.

Yeah, man. He has been electric tonight. That's all I know. T-Rats have been very overmatched. Getting massive whiffs on the slider coming off that high 90's heat.

Made gets throw out taking a ridiculously wide turn on an oppo double high off the wall. What is he even thinking there? That's two days in a row he's gotten out on the basepaths. Mudcats are trying to contest runners interference. He can't be rounding like that regardless. Two games in a row he's gotten outs on the basepaths. Ahhhhhh youthful folly! Absolutely smashed that high of the LF wall too. Good grief.

The RHP Ryan Middendorf Shuckers experience is even worse than the 2025 Middendorf Sounds experience. He just gave up a three-run jack. Shuckers suddenly trail 6-4. Middy has given up 5. His nightmare season continues.

Walks his next batter. Not even close. 9th batter he's facing in the sixth. That will be all for Middendorf. Man, he is cascading down the organizational depth chart. My sweet prince has lost his royal garb! Hurt me!

Alright, All. Taking the rest of this night off and am going to write a report. What a rough day of Brewers organizational baseball. Seriously. Just bad baseball; overmatched baseball in respects; sloppy baseball in facets. We lost a divisional lead in Low-A. The pain is real tonight. 😂

Huge opportunity top of 7th. SHuckers had already walked a runner in. Trailing 6-5. Darrien Miller to the dish. He gets ahead 2-0. Stares at two belt high heaters - one dead center. One outer black. Swings and misses on a very well placed and executed change-up that pulled a string. Rough AB. That 2-0 heater was the mistake pitch. Miller had to pounce. Instead he waited to see if he could hit the zone. You win some. You lose most. Baseball. 😂

Nice bounce back outing from Manfredi tonight. Worked around a lead-off walk in the seventh with a K looking (gorgeous slider) and a 4-6-3 routine DP ball. Nice work.

Man - I have no interest in trying to go back and watch any of these games.  I think in the 2-3 years I've been following here, tonight feels the emptiest, and in fact the past few weeks seem like the toughest, MOSTLY based on expectations. With Hardin not as sharp for the 2nd straight start  (and what 3rd of 4 maybe), and the Muddies just flat out struggling, and even Biloxi blowing a lead.  Sheesh, rough few weeks I think. I mean Hardin is doing great, and Biloxi has had such a run this first half, so expectations are so high that when we don't get walkoffs, or shutouts, or a few young prospects getting a hot streak it feels like it is a let off. I know - need to celebrate the fact that the season is a success so far. But still want to see a few players just go into the next level mode for more than a week. And would love to see some pitchers getting back healthy.

Maybe Biloxi can still sneak out a comeback win tonight....

I guess the draft is coming soon, so there is that to look forward to. Still looking for those 2-3 DSL players to declare themselves and be the next of the Lara, Areinamo, Made, Pena, Anderson clan who will come stateside (ACL or rarely Carolina). Any players caught anyone's eyes down in the DSL?

Man, the Chattanooga announcer is a legit national treasure. So far we watched 'Middleton' give up the three-run homer. We saw Manfred come on in relief. And now, we have 'Risüto' striking out on a slider low away and in the dirt. Bless this man.

Honestly, I'm with @wiguy94. Most impressive thing of the night is go watch the Dodger's Swan. He was electric. Incredible outing. Other than that? Not much to be excited about tonight in the system. It looks like Kuehner had a solid outing? I am debating whether to go back and watch it. 🫣

The Chattanooga TV announcer sounds like he gave up years ago on finding any joy or beauty in the world and now he really wants everyone listening to him to give up too.
