Kinda reminds me of how Ortiz got in Murphy's doghouse earlier in the season.  Taking a pitch right down the middle.

Just so strange to watch Ortiz get to 2 strikes quickly, put together three solid takes on pitches outside the zone, a couple of fouled off strikes and then stare at strike 3 down middle without taking his bat off his shoulder.  Bad approach to start, better in the middle and a dose of *** at the end.

Just really odd.  if he's guessing there, I have no idea why after he fouled off two pitches earlier in the at bat.

I could be wrong, but it looked like Taillon was throwing fastballs up, and everything down in the zone until strike 3 was a breaking ball out of the zone. Just a quality pitch at that point in the AB.

Ortiz is a really frustrating player. So good as certain things, and yet there are times in 2 strike situations when his approach is nothing short of befuddling.
