Are we seriously resorting to the deserve to win thingy.   Exit velocity.   Babip garbage.     The cubs are kicking our ass and tomorrow is mere formality at this point.    I wanted to see how we would react in the biggest series of the year.  This isn’t June or July.      And it’s disappointing

My guess is we will be down about 2 game lead by September 1.    And everybody will say they were right about the brewers.    Just sucks

ar some point you can’t be down 3-1 by the time it’s the third inning every game.   Get a damn lead

Or what?  We are up 5 games?  It would be big to go up 7, yes.....much more like must win for Chicago for division.

Or we will have lost 4 in a row and 5 of 6 as we head in to a very difficult stretch while the cubs have a ridiculously easy schedule the rest of the way.

I sure hope the brewers view it as a game they need to win and aren’t “meh whatever we’ll be fine”.

No ass kicking is happening. At one point late they were up 3-1 with 1 hit.

If we plan on starting Chad Patrick in the playoffs and the string of relievers we ran out yesterday, we are in trouble.

At some point, we were going to hit a skid before October. Let's hope it's a week and not 3 weeks.

This played out as the type of game expected, given the conditions, Not many big hits, but they had one more than us.

With the wind blowing in, walking three in an inning is inexcusable, and both pitchers accomplished that feat. Unfortunately it was Busch in their opportunity, while we had Perkins who is scuffling & Ortiz who really doesn't seem to have a plan when he goes to the plate. Two ugly pop ups on 1st pitch swings.

Miz..........a leadoff walk, missing with two breaking balls after 2-2 (again with the wind blowing in). A little pressure, a little noise from the inmates. Another walk. A little more, which leads to another walk. After the damage was done, pressure off, he mostly looked great. First two innings, great. Bottom line, we just need for Ebby Calvin LaLoosh to grow up. The tools causing all the hype are there, as always. Just not all the time. Again, breathe. Grow up.

I imagine there's gnashing of teeth over Seigler hitting in the 9th. The thought process there was probably that Murphy liked him a little better than Perkins & Ortiz. So that's two PHs. And if Jansen DOES reach (he did) you just know that if Lockridge isn't available to run for him, the next batter is going to single to LF & Jansen won't be able to score. Monasterio is the other option and while that's a decent argument, Palencia might not come in throwing strikes & Seigler is more apt to extract a walk than Mona. And L vs R. Arguable, but I can see the thought process.

Turang is turning into one hell of a ballplayer.

Bottom line, like I said this smelled like one of those games down there that's 2-1 or 3-1, and save for Misiorowski's momentary Turnbow impersonation it probably is, and we most likely win.

This game should have been won 3-2 or 3-1.

I said it earlier in the GT, Miz’s stuff means nothing if he has innings where he completely loses composure and can’t find the zone. The hype from the first couple outings is long gone. He won’t make it at all in the bigs, much less develop into an ace, if he can’t win the mental game.

while the Cubs are playing the likes of the Rockies, Nats, and Braves.

Another way to look at it is that the Cubs have a three-city West Coast trip, and the Braves and Rockies are two of the hottest teams in baseball.

Even the Nats are playing better.

It's not a hard schedule in theory, but the timing is better for the Brewers.

They probably view it like all the other games where they go and try to win, but it doesn't always happen. The theatrics in here tonight are seriously insane. Losing to your rival is never fun, but my God. We hold the high ground and being where we are is an absolute dream right now.

We have outscored them this series lol. Baseball is a funny game.

It's not funny when you lose 4-in-a-row to them !!

This series has sucked and the timing is disappointing. But I mean, we have the best record in MLB by 4 games over 3/4 into the season. A little perspective is good here.

Tomorrow isn’t a formality for either team. The Brewers have a good pitcher going and could win and leave Chicago with a 7 game lead.

It was an absolute dream.      Fun 3/4 of the season.   But it could be an all time collapse also.    We will see how tough we are tomorrow.     A massive game.   But I’m not counting on it.    We are getting beat by a better team.    The brewers are good but they ain’t better than Chicago.

I've said this often-----It's not WHO you play, but HOW. Chi is playing pretty well right now, but this isn't a Saturday afternoon in the fall with Alabama playing Middle Tennessee. It's baseball. Unless you get into the final maybe 7-10 games I think looking at the sked can be overrated.

And save for a Turang error on Sunday, Vaughns' bad throw yesterday & too many inopportune walks by a few different guys I don't think we're playing as badly as some probably think.

We are better than the Scrubs!

Look at the standings!

4 division championships in the last 5 seasons after this one!

We are better!

Case closed!

This series has been sitting there like the sword of Damocles through this whole winning streak. I wasn’t going to feel good until, this series and the rest of the 19 game/18 day stretch was over.

Tomorrow’s game feels like a formality just like some of those series over the years when the Cardinals would win 3 or 4; in a row by doing whatever it would take to win.

The 7 game homestand is going to be critical for the Brewers to get their mojo back. I’m not feeeling good about the Brewers chances of not losing ground when they finish this stretch with series against the Blue Jays and Phillies while the Cubs are playing the likes of the Rockies, Nats, and Braves.

The Braves are 11-3 since our series. Perhaps they’re starting to play more to their talent level

We play all our games on a field!

We are certifiably better even though their payroll is way bigger than ours!

Cubs and Counsell .... boooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

How was that post confusing in any way?

Why would you think we would have any chance of winning tomorrow?

Focus on the next 4 series against WINNING TEAMS.

We can lose 14 in-a-row just as fast as we won 14 in-a-row.
