Pretty bad approaches from Bauers twice now with RISP.  Hoskins approves.

Think the approach was fine……he just didn’t execute……it happens.

and to be fair……the Strike out was on a perfect pitch that could have been called a ball just as easily.

Just a thought: is there a reason the Brewers haven’t just released Hoskins? Are they going to burn a spot on the playoff roster for a non-contact hitting pinch hitter, who hasn’t received regular MLB At bats in months?

I get that Uribe hasn't pitched a ton this month, and maybe he just needs the work, but if Megill is down as bad as it sounds like, you know Uribe is going to rack up some miles here pretty soon. Seems weird in a 7-run game, but hey, that's why Murph makes the big bucks I guess.

Yep. Getting some work in.

This was a good win tonight.   Five games ahead of the cubs is probably in a good enough sweet spot where they might not go all out for wins to save their staff or rest players.    Plus they might have some hangover’s tomorrow

If it gets under five they might have that slight felling that they still have a shot

And that's fair. He is just one of the last faces I expected to see after the big triple.

Hoskins making $18 million this season. If Cubs claimed Carlos Santana off waivers, they might have claimed Hoskins.

I just don't agree, but that's fine.  I'm not an expert, but he didn't shorten his stroke at any point in that second AB.  His whole approach should have been to elevate the ball and get it to the OF, and you don't need huge swings to do that, but that's exactly what he did on the pop out.

On the k with RISP, the pitch was very good.  The ump had been giving the low zone strike call at times.  It just makes no sense to watch it and hope for a walk with 2 strikes, men on 2nd and 3rd and 1 out.

I think that's exactly what's going to happen.  Meaning Hoskins will be rostered, not released.

Love these nice relaxing wins.

I want to bottle this feeling, because after this week, I won't be feeling it again much until the spring...

He has to pitch……nobody likes it but you have to give him some work. He needs it to stay sharp.

But what’s left of that 18 million? A million bucks? He’s had 3 MLB at bats since July 5th. Just seems weird they’d let a guy rot on their bench, for the final weeks of the season.

In suppose between Hoskins, Seigler, Lockridge and Berroa (the other hitters on the 40 man, there’s no reason to not

Agreed. They should do him a solid and let him go unfortunately he would be claimed by someone who they might see later on.
