If I'm the Mariners I'm not feeling great about a G5 against Skubal, although they did manage to pull it off before.

They have the advantage of being at home again where runs are at a premium. So odds are it will come down to the bullpens again, where they have the theoretical advantage (although that certainly wasn't the case in game 4).

I'm still up in the air about who I would rather face if you get to the next round. Phillies or dodgers.

Phillies are probably the stronger squad but having the dodgers and Yankees both knocked out of the playoffs would be a nice prize as well.

What about multi ball?

All drugs are unbanned and legal for the entire time from the 3rd out in the 9th until the close of the game. All of them.

All 4 teams that had a chance to advance failed on their first attempt.

The Blue Jays succeeded on their second attempt.

The rest of the series are TBD.

For tomorrow's 2-game schedule, why would MLB do a 3pm PT start and an 8pm CT start when they could just do something like 6pm CT and 7pm PT starts instead?

Because they want that big Philadelphia market to watch the game in their prime time rather than late at night

Wouldn't that be a wash with losing prime time in the LA market, though?

Phillies lose in one of the dumbest ways possible.  The panic ate that pitcher alive.

Very bad call to say that ball hit the hand on the bunt try in the 12th.

I mean, it clearly hit his hand, but it should've been a strike because he offered at it.

Onto 13.

It was more than likely a foul ball but we really can't get a good look at his index finger when the ball makes contact with the bat.

Crawford is proving that we're not the only ones that can go up there and have poor at bats in the clutch.

That’s what I don’t get. He clearly tried to bunt and he gets a hbp ????? Ridiculous call. Glad they didn’t win off that. What a game though.

Nope, not me.  This is awesome.

I wish it was still like this all the time.  I know I’m in the minority.

Everybody's up there swinging out of their shoes.

Would be curious to see the umpire scorecard after this one. Porter seems to have been pretty on the spot from what I've watched.

Interesting watching the game without the K-Zone.

Indeed. Don’t really miss it. It’s like the social media of baseball. Single-handedly ruining the enjoyment of the game.

Someone needs to go hit barefoot, obviously.

He might have missed an important ball four on Crawford, but he's been consistent all game. He's probably getting really tired right about now.
