Any chance the Brewers would be atleast interested?

Maybe but he is not a 3B and would be a 1B in MLB.  I think he signs with the Yankees which leaves Naylor a possibility for the Brewers.

If he can play 3B, he'll be a Dodger.  Dodgers have 1st rights to any Japanese player worth a damn.

Baseball.

3B is what he's done most of.  No idea how well he plays the position, but he definitely cut down on the errors from early in his career.  Though Turbo's right.  If the Dodgers are interested, that's where he'll end up.  And if they're not interested, why would we be?

It would be sad if he went to the dodgers, but LA would only be able to play him at 3B. But, maybe that would make Max Muncy available. He would be a very good 1B option for the Brewers

I get that it's hardly a given that Burke, Adams, Wilken... Boeve, Black, Fischer, they're not all going to hit. But it's a pretty good bet that one or two hit and it could be as soon as next year AND we've got Vaughn and Bauers for the immediate future. Bauers is no... star, but he's a nice LHed platoon and I think the defense is underrated.

Is Naylor going to be worth it? I'd think he'd get 4 years 50M at least. Hardly prohibitive, but... just not sure it's worth it.

I would guess the Dodgers will get Murikami as ther 3B/1B/DH Japenese player. He is a bigger get.

I feel like getting a defensively questionable player isn't our way. I wouldnt be against getting this guy if it could be for like 2-15 but I would guess he could get more.

We have absolutely no shot at any of these Japanese players.  Just a sad reality.

To be fair even if the Brewers could afford him they probably still have no shot at any of these Japanese players.  The Bucks drafted a Chinese player one time and he had no interest in playing for the Bucks.  It took a lot to convince him to actually come and play for the Bucks.

For players in Japan it is Chicago, Seattle, LA and New York that are the popular places for them to play.  If a team like the Brewers gave them a lot of money maybe they come but Toronto tried that with Ohtani and he took a deal with the Dodgers instead.  A player who has no choice but to sign with a team in an undesirable location will do it if they have no choice but I doubt they stay long term.

If the Dodgers want him, he will be a Dodger....even if he's a better fit at 1st eventually, Freeman will eventually get old and he'll just slide over there a few seasons from now.
