This is the type of free agent signing I'm expecting.  Low cost and its essentially getting an early start to our mid season "trade" to bolster the playoff run.

Having had TJ surgery in March of ‘25. He should be close to being mound ready by the time Spring Training rolls around.

Realistically........

1. Peralta

2. Misorowski (Could be a #1?)

3. Preister (solid #3)

4. Woodruff (#1 if healthy, limited innings?)

5. Ashby (more useful as a bullpen piece?)

6. Patrick

7. Henderson (healthy?)

8. Montgomery

Gasser (healthy?)

Meyers

I'd rather see Patrick, Gasser and Meyers.  Montgomery would have to be one year and an incentive loaded contract.

At the time of the trade, I wondered about this possibility. That the Brewers were, in part, motivated to establish a relationship with him. I think it just makes great sense for both player and team. There was a reason he once signed a big deal. He was good. He's a big lefty. Turns 33 in a couple of weeks.

Somewhere in the $2-4 million range with innings incentives maybe? I wouldn't mind. Pitching depth is always good

IMO, definitely more useful in the BP. Just another reason to at least consider taking a gander at Montgomery on what others have mentioned---team-friendly deal w/incentives.
