I'm a little leery of trading Megill at this point because of Uribe. I have no basis for this hunch and hope I'm wildly wrong but he is a regression candidate for me this year. Last year coming into the year we saw all of the videos of him working (living?) with Peralta all off season and that was a big reason why a few had him pegged as a break out candidate, he had the vet on his shoulder and in his ear.

No reason to think he can't handle the mental part of the game at this point without Peralta around however I would love to find out before agreeing to get rid of Megill. Once June hits and any combo of Uribe, Ashby, Zerpa, Koenig, etc prove they can finish games ... then shop him.

I'll happily wear this one loudly when proven wrong.

Count me in as someone who doesn't get why we are so anxious to move on from this guy. Unless he wants to be a closer and they have given him the news it's going to be Uribe. Short of him wanting out I think we hang on to him. Uribe track record isn't exactly Lee Smith.

Maybe the team told him they are shopping him, that's about the only thing that makes sense

I think he knows they’re shopping him, but as the article notes he had a flexor strain last season, rehabbed,  then received a PRP injection in the offseason suggesting the muscles and/or ligaments weren’t completely healthy after the 2025 season.

Most likely teams are wary of putting up much value where his medicals are questionable.

With the exception of a bad 14.1 IP in 2024, Uribe has consistently dominated since 2022. Megill could  regress due to injury, age and randomness. I think it is probably difficult remaining a consistent pitcher when you are 6’8’ tall.

Milwaukee has a lot of out getters and if another team wants to overpay for a ‘proven closer’ 🤷‍♂️
