Can't afford to get way behind went your bottom three are minor leaguers.

Do other teams trot to their subs on Sunday as much as the Brewers do?

If I was going to pick a game to go to I would not pick a Sunday game.

I agree with that. If it's completely obvious, yes, challenge. No borderline challenges, though, unless it's important to the outcome of the game, in my view.

I think we should start calling this Matt LeFleur Syndrome.

We're going to need Sproat. Send him out in the second and let him work through it.

Wasn’t a good idea.

We should follow the practice of the team that won the most games in the regular season last year, whoever that it was.

As putrid as Sproat has been, a couple things I am bummed about -

This ump has been equally as bad.

Really don’t think it’s a good idea to have Quero start his first game with an equally big start for Sproat.

The Sanchize dropped a pick off at first that would have been an out.

Perk inexplicably had his worst jump of his career and let a pop fly drop.

All this to say, aside from the double play, Sproat got zero help from anybody.

However, The primary issue was Sproat didn’t help himself.

How many times in the early months of the season have we heard people on this bulletin board calling for the team to get rid of Freddy, Yelich, Abner, etc. when they had rough starts?

It's a long season.

Just to clarify my comments: I’m not suggesting we “get rid of” Sproat. I’m suggesting we “option” him to Nashville & bring up Gasser to start.

I want to see Sproat succeed as much as anyone on this board, but allowing three HRs in three innings today - regardless of poor OF play - is brutal … especially with walks & poor control.

It’s not giving up on someone to suggest he’s not quite ready yet. Here’s hoping we get “Freddy like” results from Sproat over the next six years.

Wonder if baseball reference has the Sunday records of all teams last year?

It's definitely true we often give guys days off on away day games.

According to Grok:

On Sundays, the 2025 Brewers record was 18-9. They were 9-4 at home & 9-5 on the road.

Trying to figure out how this is on "off day" lineup? Yelich not playing vs a LH pitcher? This is the lineup given injuries.

Will be interesting to see by the end of the year on average how many strike call challenges will be overturned per game.

I get that it's largely injury driven but you look at that line up and wonder where the runs are going to come from..

Yeah you’re not wrong. There are four lefties on the bench. It’s just the best current options we have versus a lefty.

If I have a gripe it’s Contreras at DH, I know it’s good to get him a day off defensively at times, but today wasn’t an ideal choice.

At best, I assume they were hoping to win a low scoring game. Sproat was overmatched & the Brewers fell behind early with odds against a comeback.

The Brewers traded away their outfield depth for a relief pitcher

That was a nice AB from Lockridge to get the RBI

And he followed it up with a SB to get into scoring position
