I agree with you on that. The game and series was there for the Brewers to take.

Just earlier in the thread someone had mentioned it being a cardinal sin or something that Turang wasn't running on that 3-0 pitch and I'm just not sure that is accurate. The only way the offense scores on a double steal attempt from a 1st and 3rd situation is because the defense makes a mistake, not because the offense executes correctly.

If it is defended correctly however, the Tigers would be giving the Brewers the option of which runner they want removed from the basepaths.

I think the analysis also ignores the fact that Skubal has a reputation for having a good pickoff move. Turang might not have felt comfortable enough to try to steal a base without risking getting picked off by a LHP who has a clear look at his lead.
