"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

Oh man, that horrible news. 44 years removed from that World Series team and I believe he's just the third member of that team to pass away, along with Sutton and Ladd.

I can remember quite a few times in his career when Moore came up when they needed a big hit.  I always felt confident when he was in that spot and he often came through.  It never felt like he was overmatched.  RIP and thanks for the thrills Charlie Moore!

Rob Picciolo and Marshall Edwards make five.

Yeah, I did more research and Doug Jones was also on the team, but he and Picciolo were really only on the team long enough for a cup of coffee. I didn't realize Edwards passed away last year. I was basically going by the dedications from the Just a Bit Outside movie.

When I was little, my family went to a game with another family and sat directly next to the Brewers dugout, to the right. It was so close and so casual that my mom talked to Charlie Moore a few times. He eventually gave a baseball to a kid in the other family, and we're convinced that he thought that was my mom's kid.

Also, a few years later, we floated next to him on the lazy river at Noah's Ark.
