Keeping an eye on Pedro Ibarguen at Wilson. I haven't followed the DSL or ACL as closely as I did years ago. Does anyone have any info? Looks like he came up as a SS and now plays OF.

Most of the DSL players come up as SS or CF, but ibarguen is not a SS at all, he could be corner IF, but is like a lot of players who are not elite defenders (or high dollar picks/signings) and will go to what position they can fill to get in the line up.

Yep, I was asking more along the lines of his hit tool. Seems like he has been able to do pretty well after adjusting to a new level.

sorry yes I think from what I watched last year ( I have been unable to watch much this year unfortunately), he was a good hitter, not a lot of power, but decent hitter and unless I'm confusing him he had a good eye at the plate.  Defensively he was DH or OF I believe which says a lot right there about his defense.  But if he can hit consistenly and develop some power it would be a very nice depth piece

I think Spencer said on the pod that he’s maybe the worst defensive player he’s ever seen

With a lineup missing two big boppers, AA Biloxi play Game 1 of today’s doubleheader at Columbus, trailing 2-1 in the series. 21-year old RHP Bishop Letson (6.66 ERA, 1.64 WHIP, 8.4 K/9 in 25.2 IP) has his first outing in 2 weeks. 1B Mike Boeve has an .807 OPS in 85 May PAs.

Two untimely errors resulted in 3 unearned runs allowed, as the Zona Crew (10-12) dropped their 9-inning, 11:00am home contest to the ACL Reds 6-4 despite outhitting them 6-3.

OF Brailyn Antunez (1-for-3, walk) was back in the starting lineup after exiting Thursday’s game early and the game started well with rehabbing RHP Daniel Corniel's 1-2-3 first inning and DH Luke Adams’ homer (his 3rd in 4 games; 2-for-4, HR, walk, 2 RBIs, SB today) to lead off the bottom of the 1st inning.

However, a 2-out dropped fly ball to left field allowed 2 runs against Corniel (2 IP, 2 R (0 ER), 2 H, 0 BB, 4 Ks), then 4 walks, 1 HBP and 1 balk issued by 19-year old RHP Dariel Jaquez (2 1/3 IP, 2 R, 1 H, 2 Ks) helped push the deficit to 4-1.

Down 6-1 late, the first 3 Brewers reached in a 2-run eighth inning (2 walks, Adams’ RBI single), then C Freider Rojas (1-for-3, walk) delivered a 2-out RBI single in the bottom of the 9th inning to cut the deficit to 6-4. Adams followed with a 7-pitch walk, but 18-year old 3B Yu-Lin Liao (0-for-3 today; 2-for-25 in his short career to date) flew out to end it.

The game had a funny way of finding Liao, who entered as a substitute for rehabbing SS Daniel Guilarte (K, BB in his first game since April 24), as he committed a run-scoring error in the 8th inning and also struck out for the team’s first out in the bottom half of that frame.

RHPs Jhosep Ospino (1 2/3 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 1 BB, 1 K) and Argenis Aparicio (1 2/3 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 1 BB, 0 Ks) were solid in relief to give the comeback a chance, while RHP Josue Toledo struggled a bit with control (1 1/3 IP, 2 R (1 ER), 0 H, 3 BB, 2 Ks). 2B CJ Hughes had a productive game (1-for-3, walk, 2 SBs) and Rojas gunned down 2 of 3 attempted basestealers.

Our young men in Arizona have an off day tomorrow, but return to action at the ACL Dodgers (8-14) on Monday at 8:00pm CST.

RHP Jacob Morrison (3.86 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, 7.7 K/9 in 11.2 IP) makes his 5th career start, as the Low-A Warbirds aim to take a 3-2 series lead at Myrtle Beach. 18-year old RF Handelfry Encarnacion has 10 hits, 3 walks. 6 RBIs and 3 SBs in his last 4 games.

LHP Thomas Pannone’s 8th outing (3.04 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, 7.2 K/9 in 23.2 IP) comes with AAA Nashville seeking to clinch this week’s series at Gwinnett. CF Luis Lara (.969 OPS in 234 PAs) is 8-for-15 over his last 4 games.

Though a small sample, RHP Jason Woodward has had better success as a starter (1.86 ERA) than as a reliever (11.37 ERA). He gets the ball with Wisconsin needing a home win to even their series 3-3 against Peoria. 3B Andrew Fischer has an 1.109 May OPS with 9 homers in the month to go with an 18-game on-base streak.

Bishop Letson turned in his longest outing (and second strong start) of 2026 (5.1 IP, 1 R (0 ER), 2 H, 4 BB, 6 Ks) and the Biloxi offense blew open a 2-0 game with a 7-run penultimate inning to even their series at 2 games apiece at Columbus. SS Jesus Made had a triple, 2 singles and 3 RBIs in their 9-4 victory.

23-year old RHP Jaron DeBerry has 27 Ks over his last 3 starts and seeks to help the AA Shuckers complete today’s doubleheader sweep and take a 3-2 series lead at Columbus. 3B Jheremy Vargas enters as the sole lineup change.

22-year old JR Ritchie had dominated Nashville early in the season (12.2 IP, 1 R, 12 Ks), but not today as Tyler Black smacked a 106.4mph double, 4 walks followed and Ritchie exited after just 1/3 IP.

Old friend Javy Guerra entered and allowed hard-hit RBIs to Jeferson Quero (2-run double) and Freddy Zamora (2-run single).

Nice 6-0 early Nashville lead.

Pratt with another day at the plate. Could we be approaching the biggest shortstop prospect movement day in our franchise's history in a few weeks?

Pratt to the bigs, Made to AAA, Pena to AA all at once?

It is too soon but if we could have added Ebel to High A along with that ... seismic.
