Regarding Fischer....his K% is still north of 30%. Obviously, slugging 600+ and walking a lot mitigates that if it continues, but wondering if there is a current MLB player comp who K'd a ton in the minors with prodigious power who ended up a successful major leaguer? I looked at Schwarber, but he really didn't K too much in his limited time in the minors.

Brent Rooker is pretty close. He had K% of 29 in A+ ball and 34, 30 in two AAA seasons respectively.

James Wood is another one. He had K% of 33.7% in AA

@sveumrules looking in your direction.

"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

Looking at Fangraphs, among guys with 30% high A K rates the last 15 years, Elly  De La Cruz is the gold standard. Then you get to your inconsistent year to year types (Tyler O’Neill, Lawrence Butler). A lot managed to make the big leagues, but not a ton of sustained success.

The DSL Blue team is an absolute juggernaut, even with Gold having most of the big 2026 names (and being no slouches themselves).

This is going to be a fun class to follow.

There's not many. Especially when you factor in age. Wood for example was 20 years old when he did that in AA not 22 like Fischer is.

Filtering 2006 to 2026 in A+ with minimum 250 AB and a K-rate north of 30% and wRC+ greater than 120 wRC+. That is 40 players.

Like @CheeseheadInQC mentioned Elly is the cream of the crop with a 160 wRC+ and 30.7% K-rate though he was also in his age 20 season when he did that.

Matt Wallner had a 33% K-rate in A+ and has a 122 wRC+ over his first 1100 MLB PA.

Heriberto Hernandez had a 31% K-rate in A+ and has a 110 wRC+ over his first 400 MLB PA.

Some other young MLB guys who made the list are Carson Williams and Henry Bolte.

A lot of names I don't recognize some names that I recognize but didn't really pan out at the big league level like Bobby Dalbec.

Here's the link to that minor league search - https://www.fangraphs.com/leaders/minor-league?pos=all&level=3&lg=&stats=bat&qual=0&type=1&team=&season=2006&seasonEnd=2026&org=all&ind=0&splitTeam=false&players=&sort=19,1&filter=K%|gt|0.3,AB|gt|250,wRC%2B|gt|120&pg=0
