How real is Maryvale's position player shorthandedness? Very.

On Monday, their only available bench player was C/1B Eric Martinez, who had just made his way down from Nashville, where he essentially served as the bullpen catcher.

Outfielder Kenny Fenelon was listed as available, but last played on Tuesday the 16th, a game he left early. The other listed player was Alexander Frias, on his way to Wilson.

It’s a Low-A debut for 18-year old DH/OF Alexander Frias (1.196 OPS in 137 ACL PAs), as Wilson play at Nationals’ affiliate Fredericksburg. RHP Jarrette Bonet had a solid outing last week (5 IP, 1 R, 3 Ks).

Frias' first Single A at bat was a bases loaded RBI fielder's choice. He promptly stole 2nd.

As I'm typing this Ebel just hit one out. 2-2 on the day for him. His arrow is pointing up....

We have so many good shortstops in the system it's hysterical.

Is it possible for Fischer to go from Appleton all the way to Milwaukee within the same season?

I dont think it would be crazy if he hot say 10 more HR though the end of July for him to get to Nashville. I think the issue is that he wont be ready defensively to play 3B and with Yeli at DH with Bauers and Vaughn at 1B. That being said if he hits 40 HR in the minors it will be tough not to give him a look in the bigs the last week or two of the season.

Not with the strikeout rate and defense. He will need more seasoning for sure. I think Nashville is a possibility which would be a fantastic season.

Lara and Quero with big nights, ton of hits for Biloxi, Owens dominating for Wisconsin, Wilson scoring 15 runs with Ebel ant the forefront, and Martinez with a walk off? Quite the night.

The lockout looms though :( If he gets called up for a week and then MLB locks the players out he cannot play next year because he is a part of the union. If he stays off the 40man he can play a full minor league season next year. I just can't see the Brewers wasting a year of development for Made, Fischer, Burke, etc unless they need them to help win a ring this year. Otherwise, why risk it?
