That’s what I was thinking. Strosnider probably heads to Appleton to replace Payne.

I am telling myself the southern league “live ball” is what made Ragsdale look so good. And with the OF “depth” of mlb club (Chourio, Lara, Frelick, Mitchell) and Adamczewski, Payne, Strosnider, and possibly Jones and Antunez, Frias was maybe expendable.  But boy I will miss those two. Manfredi needed a change of scenery and Juan Martinez is solid prospect but not top 30. It’s going to look very different here in the minors - hopeful to see Ebel the younger, Jones, Strosnider soon, and hopeful to unearth a few late round gems.

Anyway I’ll get over it. And thankful for this forum. I probably care too much about these prospects. I was pretty bummed to see Frias go. If you couldn’t tell 😉

I dont know about the live ball theory for Frias given his heroics and EVs in the DSL. I think we are overloaded with OF prospects and there wasnt much of a market for them, but hard not to think its an overpay compared to other guys that got moved. All I can think is the Brewers were stunned by the Skubal results and there was pressure to make a move. But also that they valued May more than meets the eye.

I was thinking the "live ball" was more in the Southern League, and maybe Midwest League. Not ACL or Carolina leagues.  And Frias high EV was with a "live" radar/trackman that night, but still he is possibly a very promising prospect worthy of a high end trade, but alas I will too get over this 😒

Not sure about the complex leagues, but I guess I was under the assumption it was all the AA through low-A leagues. But, yah, the EVs show Frias’ power is legit.

I think his highest reported EV against the ACL Reds (?was that the game) was reported as maybe a tick off, as a lot of readings (EVs and maybe even pitch velo - I would have to look up the game thread for that night) were a bit suspect as maybe too high. But his other recorded EVs were legit for an 18 year old.

Well after the trade info dust settles, I look at the games from the island today, and oof not a good start for Mr. Derlin Garcia, but that is an aberration on his fine season. Hitters were clearly too distracted by watching one of their own in Frias get traded to the enemy that most bats went silent. The Golden Brewers mustered (or is it mustard lol) only 3 hits.

In the other game - Mr. Leander Matos with two hits for the Blue Crew and S. Franeites with his 5th HR in a nice offensive year for a catcher. Jordy Brache with an actual OK outing - 3K to 2 BB which is a huge improvement for the young man I have an eye on. And Carlos Galindo pitched well.

I see the big league team is mourning in unison with our DSL brethren in a potentially lifeless game (by scoreboard watching, I'm not watching the game itself).

Anyhoo ..... looking forward to Tuesday Milb action. Hopeful for a few new names in some line up cards
