Wednesday's Birthday:

DSL Brewers Gold infielder Romano Donato turns 18 today. It's been a rough go in limited playing time for the 2nd year Venezuelan native, but his single on Tuesday was one of Gold's three hits, so he has that to wake up to this morning.

Josh Adamczewski, Braylon Payne, Brailyn Antunez helping me be not as sad about our future big league outfield outlook after they sent Alex Frias to the Cardinals

I do think there is a decent chance they picked the right one to deal

RHP Jaron DeBerry (5.2 IP, 1 R, 5 Ks last week) and AA Biloxi target a 2-0 series lead at Columbus. C Marco Dinges homered yesterday and makes his 2nd start behind the plate since early May. Is OF Josh Adamczewski really making his first career center field start?

LHP Colton Gordon (5 IP, 3 R, 5 Ks last outing) makes his 4th start for AAA Nashville, who need a win at Memphis to even this week’s series. 1B Brock Wilken has a 13-game on-base streak.

The Low-A Warbirds are 2 games behind in the 2nd half playoff chase and look to claim a 2-0 series lead at Hill City behind RHP Carlos Carra (10.1 IP, 1 R, 8 Ks over last 3 games). C Rylan Mills keeps putting up solid numbers (.844 OPS in 140 Low-A PAs).

LHP JD Thompson has had 2 solid starts (6.2 IP, 1 R (0 ER), 11 Ks) since his injury return and leads High-A Wisconsin as the strive to cut Beloit’s second half division lead to 1.5 games. CF Braylon Payne has 4 homers over his last 5 games.

His next one is a Timber Rattlers record!

Deberry, Gordon, and Thompson with solid outing so far. Antunez is currently 2/3 with a SB, huge start to his A ball tenure.

Brailyn Antunez is en fuego

I was going to say I think he like the Carolina league.  That is some start to a low A career.

T-Rats close the deal 4-2.  Pena and Dickinson and Alastre with 2 H each tonight. Dickinson is saying hello to the prospect charts and in this 2nd half is asking "where is my ranking", with a nice offensive 2nd half.

Pitching was good with 5 solid IP by Thompson, then Meneses, Fowler and the ever-entertaining Yerlin.

Well maybe Ragsdale was the glue or special sauce for Fischer and Burke.

Seriously, as hot as those 2 with Ragsdale had been, the two remaining have cooled off a bit.  I mean that's expected, Burke was never going to a HR everyday.  But that's baseball ... with ebbs and flows.

Billoxi is up 3-1 key hits by Dinges, Made and Burke (his only hit with 2K). DeBerry with a "berry" solid line. Gotta get 3 more outs here fellas.

OK, biedergb jinx.

Need 3 more outs to get a win ... 🤨... well they only get 1.

Cruz in and gives up single, walk, single, single. then pop out to CF. Then single to right and it's a 4-3 loss.

Ugh

I was checking out the minor league box scores tonight and saw that Blake Burke stole his 28 base on the season!  I know he has been mashing of late but the stolen bases snuck up on me.  The infield and how it will take shape in the future with some combo of Burke, Fisher, Pena, Made, Pratt will be interesting to see.  Let alone the prospects in A ball, rookie and DSL leagues.   It’s a good problem to have!
