May has been alright today, shaky in terms of command, couple good defensive plays have saved him. Crew need him to get through a couple more innings today.

Sure, you’d take that result but the process of how things went today won’t get to that result every time. Can’t count on getting bailed out by two web gems every time or this could be looking ugly.

According to studies, MLB is subject to 27.8 percent luck. You get bailed out. You don't get bailed out. Keep it to two and you're good.

I was going to make that comparison but people aren’t going to like it. Very Sproat-like outing. You can see the stuff but the command is very spotty and you better get some good defense behind you or you’re going to be in trouble.

Ortiz has a higher OPS against righties than Hamilton does, yet Hamilton gets those starts anyway. It's mind boggling why Murphy uses Hamilton as a regular when he's the 25th man on the roster, like Ortiz was just keeping his seat warm while he was on the IL.

I want May using our defense. You can see he gets in trouble when he overthrows and loses command. He was understandably jacked up for his first start with us but seems settled in now. 

They haven’t had much hard contact, one loud out, one HR, and one hard hit single.

I can see the comparison. I do think May has a deeper arsenal of pitches.

It’s risky, but the bullpen has been pretty taxed the last week. I’d roll him out there one more inning.

Better inning. I hope his command improves going forward but as others have said if he can give us 6 innings today only allowing the 2, you’ll take it. 

Either way, today doesn’t define the rest of his season - he just got here. Gotta give it some time.
