And another base gained from Bauers' speed and baserunning.  I've lost count of how many we're up to but it's certainly more than 20.

I don't know if that adds yet another or what that was supposed to be.

Given that the ump called almost the exact same pitch for a strike right afterwards, was the curve just so good it fooled Wild Bill?

Here’s the thing, it should not matter.

Unless it is an egregiously awful miss that has no chance of not being overturned, you have absolutely zero reason to challenge in the 1st inning with 2 out, a man on 3rd, on a 2-0 count.

Big risk for likely no reward.

What a wild play. Great slides. I thought he was dead to rights.

He was.

You send him from 3rd no matter what when you know Yelich is up next with zero shot to drive him in from 3rd

Everyone in the stadium knows it - even Yelich

It should be a crime for Murphy to play Yelich over Vaughn … especially hitting him 5th. He is so washed. I can’t take two more seasons of his horrid at bats.

Yup, it was the right call regardless of result. The throw was perfect. Raleigh is having a season to forget.

did the mariners decide NOT to challenge?

did they run out of time?

Not sure. Didn’t hear an explanation. I think he got the hand in there but it was close.

Yelich should have been screaming at him to touch the plate the moment the ball popped out. Bauers didn’t know at first.

I get that, but it doesn't change the fact that Bauers would've been out by 10 feet if Raleigh had hung on to the ball. I'm not even sure the coaches believe Yelich is an automatic out.

We need to something as a team about our challenges, but MLB needs to do something about their ABS challenge system, too.

They are that bad, they miss enough calls, that 2 per game isn’t reasonable. They can be wrong all game and it’s all good. If we’re wrong twice, we pay for it.

If Yelich is at the plate with two outs, you take your chances & send the runner no matter what. Unfortunately, our highest paid player is completely washed. I can’t bear two more years of his poor at bats.

Need at least one more challenge but better yet just automate them all.

Yelich down to a .670 OPS. I remember the .700 watch from not long ago.

We had some nice result with Chourio, Bauers, and Vaughn hitting 3-4-5 so of course that means we have to change.
