Questionable whether Pratt would have made it to 2nd there and ridiculous to pull him if that's the reason.

Why did PCakes do that.

I don't know but I've seen way worse out of more veteren players.

Love how they first justified him not taking second because of the strong throwing arm of the RF. Knew that was BS and glad Murph pulled him.

Hmm. I think Pratt could have probably booked it out of the box a little quicker, but I didn’t think it was overly egregious.

Didn't seem that egregious on replay.

I agree, not sure that was warrented there.

I hope Murphy didn’t punish Pratt there … not a good look for someone who has allowed a few vets to scuffle all season long

If that had been Yelich he’d have gotten a backrub and hit leadoff tomorrow.

Especially since Hamilton is a significant downgrade at SS

Why pinch run? Pratt hurt again? We just dfa the backup infielder

Murphy wanted to show how big his D was.   Although Pratt needs to either be on 2nd or get thrown out trying to get there.

We are now out of infielders, so if one of them gets hurt Vaughn is going to have to play 3rd.  Hope it was worth it to send a message that didn't need to be sent.

Maybe if you’re not hitting well and not doing little things right (like not getting the bunt down earlier) you should run out of the box

Getting thrown out at 2nd with the top of the order (even if they've been bad tonight) would have been stupid.

Murphy is not consistent with his discipline profile

That's the problem.  If you are going to have the young guys watch Contreras bound down the line and tolerate that, that is a bad look for Murph.

Is that what they sould have told Contreras in the middle of his massive slump when he peels out to the dugout halfway down the line?

Feel like you could just yell at him in the dugout if you're really that upset about it.

I don’t have a big problem with this, but let’s be consistent in how we enforce standards and not hold rookies to a higher standard than veterans.

It’s the hustle that Murphy wants to see.  If he’s busting it out of the box he’s safe.
