Get out of the inning and the Brewers would have to score at some point and hope for someone near the bottom of the bullpen ladder to hold the lead. 

They needed to win that game in the ninth inning and when they didn’t they were in bad shape.

That was a very frustrating game.  The 9th inning was tanked by Lara.  He’s been in a big spot a lot and seemingly never delivers.  Ortiz was unintentionally / intentionally walked.  He should have come unglued on the 3-0 cookie. They knew he wasn’t swinging and the purpose of that pitch was to see if he would then get himself out on a 3-1 count which he didn’t.  But that left it up to Hamilton who put together a great AB but it’s still asking a lot for him to get a hit there.

If the Cubs win tonight the lead will be down to 4.5 from the recent 7 with 7 to play against them. If that is upsetting be upset at their play that allowed it to happen.

Kinda feel like people are starting to see what I was saying about Chourio early in the year that was apparently super controversial.

He's fine.  He's not even close to our biggest problem on offense but when you're a top 3 prospect and the team gives you a contract like that before you've ever played a game, they kind of want star production, not just he's a good hitter production.  And we're now 1,600 plate appearances into his career.  Yes he can still improve and get to the star level but every year he doesn't get there makes it less likely that he'll eventually figure it out.

The temporary 7 game lead (back to 4.5 in an hour or so) hasn't changed my opinion that the Cubs will win the division. That lineup is legit and they have enough pitching now.

Not really fair, he delivered in the 8th inning in the last game against the Braves but no one followed him with anything so it doesn’t get remembered, and he was responsible for half of our RBIs tonight.

But yes that was not a good AB in the 9th.

When he gets hot he’s seeing a bunch of pitches.  When he’s trash he swings at everything.

He is a reliever we picked up at the deadline.  There is no way he's going to be good.

I love Chourio but that AB in the 10th was gross,

Can’t get myself to blame anything but the ninth in this one. Those AB’s after Yelich double just can’t happen. Mitchell going down looking just can’t happen. Lara had to make contact. 
 

hamilton throw terrible but chaos happens when you make contact with guys on.

He's 22 years old and hitting .276/.797. He's doing ok.

True, but we don't have to be happy with "ok."

Maybe we've all placed far too much importance on his success to this team, but the way our line-up is constructed, he just has to be better than "ok" since we don't have much else to pick up his slack.

We have a lot of guys, who judging on their full season performance, are doing "ok" but we have no one that we can say has been far better than "ok."  Maybe Bauers?
