Didn't know where else to put this, but here are the splits against LHP/RHP for our top 10 hitting prospects. Wanted to see who was platoon-able. Fischer and Payne were huge surprises. Fischer so much so that it seems like a typo.

I know guys like Fischer, Payne, Burke, and Bitonti all get docked for their swing and miss. I don’t have the data for that stuff when it comes to matchups… (someone else can take it from here)

I wonder if the swing and miss vs who they’d actually face in the pros is really that bad (aka throw out data vs lefties for Burke and Bitonti).

Low-A Wilson have lost 6 straight games and now commence their final series of the 2026 season, playing at Nationals’ affiliate Fredericksburg. LHP Joey Broughton (5.14 ERA, 1.70 WHIP, 9.0 K/9 in 56 IP) gets tonight’s start. CF Kyle Jones has an 8-game hitting streak.

21-year old RHP Josh Knoth (4.33 ERA, 1.31 WHIP, 8.9 K/9 in 74.2 High-A IP) makes his AA debut for Biloxi at home against White Sox affiliate Birmingham. 20-year old RHP Braylon Payne has produced a .269 AVG and .814 OPS in 58 AA plate appearances.

UPDATE: 3B Luis Pena was a late scratch, replaced by RF Mark Coley II, with three fielding position changes.

Just a nightmare season for Pena in the injury department. Hopefully a healthy 2027 is in store for the poor guy.

The AAA Sounds host Reds’ affiliate Louisville this week, with LHP Thomas Pannone (rough last 3 outings: 8.2 IP, 15 R (12 ER), 11 Ks) toeing the slab first tonight. LF Tyler Black is hitting .359 during his 12-game on-base streak.

The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers play at Marlins’ affiliate Beloit in their final series of 2026, with RHP Ethan Dorchies (5.28 ERA, 1.54 WHIP, 8.0 K/9 in 104 PAs) starting the series opener. 19-year old utility man Juan Ortuno slots in at shortstop in his High-A debut.

Great to see glimpses of their human side. I’d be pretty surprised if Luke Adams isn’t getting Andrew Vaughn’s AB’s next year as the RH power platoon dude who can play the corners.
