A five hit complete game shutout (3 from helton 2 from holliday) to show yost that yes....I can be good every tenth start, thus securing a spot in the '06 rotation. Because as yost has pointed out, "he's got good stuff."

Well, I for one am 1000% positive that tonight's game is not capable of being as bad as last night's game. Two reasons:

A. We fully expect Victor to get beaten to a pulp and to make it no further than the 3rd inning, last night we were expecting Ben to completely shut down the Rockies offense. Because our expectations are so low this game, it is near impossible for Victor to pitch further below our expectations than Sheets did last night.

B. It is also near impossible for the Brewers offense to do any worse than last night. They may not do any better, but they sure can't do any worse.

So, since the team hit rock bottom last night, the only direction to go is up; unless the choose a horizontal route and become the worst team in the history of baseball until the end of time.

Is it bad karma to use a picture of Santos in which he just served up a HR to a Cub?
"His whole life is a fantasy camp. People should plunk down $2000 to live like him for a week. Sleep, do nothing, fall ass-backwards into money, mooch food off your neighbors and have sex without dating... THAT'S a fantasy camp."

Since when are the Rockies the "Rox"? Have I been missing something or is this a recent poor attempt by MLB to create a trendy new name for an up and down franchise? They must have used it a thousand times today on milwaukeebrewers.com

How about calling them the Purple Rox?

And best of luck to Victor

How many innings of shut out ball does Francis have to throw to have his ERA below 5.00??

Sadly, his 9 inning outing will only lower his ERA to 5.38.

What does it take for someone to do something about Santos?

His last bunch of starts:

Aug 8; 4 IP, 4 R

Aug 3; 6 IP, 4 R

Jul 28; 6 IP, 3 R

Jul 23; 5 IP, 5 R

Jul 18; 3 IP, 6 R

Jul 7; 4.1 IP, 8 R

...and it's about the same story back until June 10.

Obermueller got sent down for less than this; and Glover was not much worse than Vic is. So what's the hold up?!

I know it's still two hours to game time, but there's still not too much interest out here this evening, huh?

Maybe I'll go to the Cubs/Astros game across the way here and root on the Astros.

Seems fairly recent, but I've heard it a few times earlier this year as well. I think the Colorado people even use it.

I'll predict a strong outing by Santos. Extra few days of rest, close to being removed from the rotation......he'll disappoint us all by pitching 7+ innings, fewer than 3 ER's and get the win. Which means we'll have to live with him at least the rest of the year.

No JJ Hardy again? Why not?

No JJ Hardy again? Why not?

See, since Hall has been slumling lately the Brewers need to bench Hardy so they have more offensive attack.

Makes sense to me.

You have to be kidding me. How can Yost justify starting Bill Hall after his display of laziness last night?!? This is a joke. Hall should have been pulled on the spot last night after demonstrating how not in the game he was, let alone not starting tonight. Ridiculous.

... and what did I tell you. Branyan goes 3-4... time to BENCH him! Seriously, if Branyan is really SO hurt that he can't play consecutive games nor more than 2 games a week, WHY isn't he on the DL.

Seems like that's an excuse.
